McCarthy bagged $56 million in earmarks

March 30, 2009

Remember just last week, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) labeled his peers who are taking earmarks as bank robbers, and voiced his strong opposition to project funding requests? It turns out that the congressman sponsored $56 million in legislative earmarks in 2008, with $282,000 going to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.

You might call in on the Dave show today and ask McCarthy why he took that money from Fowler and Hertel especially now that their is a Investigation into the deal.

Is anyone surprised no one here is bothering to defend Mr. McCarthy's integrity? The guy's record is abominal. Everything that is wrong with this nation has been encouraged by politicians like Kevin McCarthy. He is bought and paid for by special interests who have NO interest in the well-being of the average citizen. Remember this the next time some paid hack tries to convince you to vote for Kevin McCarthy. Don't be a sucker. Check his record. It is abominal. Some would say indefensible, but McCarthy will try to find some slick way to convince you he is doing good for you. But then check the reality. He is a pawn hoping to one day rise in the organization by kissing the rears of despicable people.

Al on 4/1/09 asked: "What ever happened to the "do not call" list I signed up for? Between "American Lung Association" etc. and McCarthy my phone rings constantly with unwanted solicitations once again. I give and listen generously throughout the year on my own."

Political calls are exempt from the "Do Not Call" list. Specifically:

"If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?

No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls."

McCarthy is glib and has political good looks, but he is a tool. He was lock step with George W. Bush, approving of everything Bush did to harm our nation. McCarthy is the very worst type of politician. He can look good and sound good telling you anything you want to hear. But he will do anything to rise in politics. All he really cares about is his own success. His political views are regressive and flawed. He is a tool of the Heritage Foundation and will do or say anything to win the favor of the fanatic extreme right wing power brokers. McCarthy is the WORST. I can't stress this enough. He is the WORST. We should do everything we can to see that he is never again elected to a public office. McCarthy simply cannot be trusted to do what is best for the average citizen. He works for someone else, and that is not us. He is everything we don't want in a politician, whether Republican or Democrat. I'm not saying he isn't smart. He is clever and uses that to try to fool people every which way he can. We can no longer tolerate having people like him represent us, because he DOES NOT represent us. For him it's all about pleasing the folks with the purse strings. He's been a good little obedient pawn for those selfish greedheads.

Also had bogus "robocall" from McCarthy this evening. His attempt to push an agenda and sound like he knows anything. The AG should put the whole bunch on a polygraph and ask yes/no questions on taking 'bribes' from lobbyists.

Dummy McCarthy seems to have started some damage control. Just got a dinner-time robocall from him via a blocked number, the recording inviting me to listen in on a phone-based town hall meeting in which he'll fill me in on "what's happening in congress." This is the very first time since he's been in office that I've received ANY sort of communication from him. I hope it's the last.

He also bagged many more thousands from RW Hertel, Robert Fowler all while they were defaulting on Bank and Investors loans, needless to say McCarthy has taken Unclean monies from us the tax papers via the defaulted bank loans. Smells very bad. Next will be the federal FEC investigations into this.

Ok, by the given figures our Sheriff's Department received one half of one percent of the help us money. I'm glad that 99.5% of the crime is not here.
