Cuesta College President David Pelham is no longer a candidate to be the new chancellor of Alabama’s two-year community college system.

Last week, Pelham and 11 other candidates interviewed for the position. The Alabama State Board of Education is looking for a replacement for Bradley Byrne, who resigned as chancellor in May to run for governor, according to the Rocky Mount Telegram.

Board members voted to reopen the search and drop the doctorate requirement after only two of the applicants made the cut for a second interview.

Pelham took the helm at Cuesta in March, 2008.

Hey Pelham…..how can we miss you if you won’t leave….So make like a tree and leave already…..You don’t want us and we don’t want you. Of course we don’t want the board of trustees either….

The one time the Trib scooped you. Wow, what a lame duck Pelham is now.

Well gee that’s too bad, I’m sure that must have been quite a disappointment for David. We would rather keep him here with us anyway but I’m sorry he went all that way and things didn’t pan out. Obviously it was a highly competitive position to vie for.
