HUMAN WEATHER REPORT Horoscopes December 11-18
December 10, 2009 1:54 pm
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Arts and crafts will flourish for Aries this season. Are you making your holiday gifts this year? Being a cardinal sign that is good at starting things, you’ll be grateful for your ruler Mars being in Leo in your fifth house of creativity to get the job done. Aries artists will be inspired with the best creative energy they’ve had in years to produce some of their best works (and make a lot of money selling them). Romance, sports, exploring museums, galleries or art shows, playful activities with children, parties and special occasions will put you in the swing of things. With the Sun and Venus in Sagittarius in your ninth house, you’ll also have your attention on opportunities with the media, publishing, medicine, higher education and the law. This house also covers anything foreign. So if anyone in the zodiac will have the desire to take a far away trip over the holidays, it’s Aries and Aries rising people. Just be sure to triple check those reservations, as you may find that one of your connections is an airline that has gone out of business.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Are you feeling like you want to buy a ticket to anywhere far, far away? Unfortunately, there is still some unfinished business regarding people who live in your home, shared property matters, inheritance, taxes, debt and anything that involves responsibilities to others. Taurus folks and those with Taurus rising like their home to be orderly, a source of peace and quiet. Your home is your refuge. At least you have the Sun and Venus in Sagittarius helping you feel like you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and handle it. Just be aware that Mars, the warring planet that rules muscles, in the sign of Leo is cruising your fourth house of home and family. As I have mentioned recently, if you feel the heat rising from your collar, turn around and count to twenty. Most likely, you’re not the only one living there. So counting to ten just wouldn’t be long enough for you to cool off and remember that your favorite china and your beautifully framed pictures around the house are cherished items you and others want to hang on to. I know, you secretly want to take off and sip on something in a hammock on a beach somewhere. My best advice is to get this handled during this next week, as you have the energy supporting you to get it done. With both Mars and Mercury going retrograde (out of orbit) starting December 21, you’ll have it finished in time for a more peaceful holiday for everyone. Just let the rest of us know if you’ve decided to put it off so we can alert the news media of the start of WWIII.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
At this time of year, when the Sun is in Sagittarius, it gives you a chance to give a lot of thought to how you interact with significant others, partnerships and long term friendships. This year, you not only have the Sun to shine a spotlight on your seventh house of relationships, but fair Venus, the planet of how we love things to be, is joining the Sun to help you with conveying your feelings in a more loving manner. Pluto and Mercury are in the sign of Capricorn cruising your eighth house of shared resources. Mercury rules mind and communication and Pluto is in charge of transformation. Are you up for an inheritance or do you owe some kind of debt? Is there a discrepancy over shared property? If there are disputes involved, get professional advice, as you may not be able to handle all the details yourself. In fact, those of you with no accounting background may want to take some accounting and paralegal courses to understand what is being presented to you through 2020. With Mars going retrograde on December 21 through March 11, your job over the next few months is to be mutually harmonious. The good news is: In its best aspect to the Sun, Mars is in Leo in your third house of mind and communication, allowing you to say what you mean and mean what you say with relatives, siblings and anyone in your community. Gemini writers, trainers, salespeople, actors, teachers and presenters will all benefit from this energy. Smile, you’re in the limelight.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
There’s lots of work to be done when the Sun and Venus are in Sagittarius in your sixth house of work, service, health and pets. You’re ‘working hard for the money,’ as the song goes. Just be careful not to work just as hard to spend it. Try to save some of that money, because some rainy days are coming up in two weeks. Mars in Leo in the second house of earned money is behind that trend. Now if you’re spending some of that cash to organize your paperwork, at work and at home, cupboards, garages, cars, basements, drawers and closets- then you’re excused. If you can manage to save and get organized, you’re right on track. You can also apply these high standards to volunteering for the community or humanitarian efforts. You’ve got everything covered. Have a holiday open house to show off the great results from all your recent efforts. There will be lots to talk about as you greet your guests in your new dress that fits those new curves, with Fluffy in your arms all groomed and wearing a big bow. Now all we need is the place and time. Thanks.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Mars in Leo in your first house of self has got you working like a house on fire. You’re accomplishing an enormous amount. Everyone can appreciate you for that. We all need work right now, but at the same time we need the balance of enjoying ourselves. No problem there. The Sun and Venus in Sagittarius are cruising through your fifth house of theater, parties, movies, restaurants and social occasions. You’ll want to enjoy some fun with children or be a child yourself. Romance is blooming everywhere for Leos. For those of you in a relationship, make plans to get away soon for a bed and breakfast weekend. Pssst…. New Year’s would be a great time. For you single Leos, accept all invitations, look sharp and keep your eyes peeled. In fact, with the current energies being offered up to you, you can work the dance floor. Make sure that your holiday clutch or money clip has plenty of room for business cards. 2010 is your year to show the world what you’re made of.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Your domestic world and real estate are on your mind. Your decorations may win the neighborhood prize. The Sun and Venus in Sagittarius are cruising your fourth house of home and family and Mars in Leo is in your twelfth house of the subconscious mind. This equation adds up to you pondering childhood memories and most likely having incredible notions or dreams. December is a classic time when family events stir up nostalgia for all of us, but especially Virgos this year. The good news is that Venus will help you to smooth over some of those not so good memories in case Mars in the secret area of your life tries to conjure up ghosts of holidays past. Not to suggest anything is wrong or that you may be having a clandestine affair, although Mars in the twelfth can have that effect. If you feel the need to talk with someone outside your family or friends, now would be a good time to make an appointment. Another good idea is to buy yourself a nice dream journal to jot down all that hard work you’ll be doing at night. For the next seven months you’ll be amazed what you’ll learn. Which reminds me… get at least eight hours of sleep a night. You may come up with a whole new way to look at life by June eighth of next year.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Your sign is in the perfect position to take advantage of all the great energy we’re feeling this week. You’re right smack in the middle of holiday cheer. The Sun and Venus in Sagittarius in your third house of mind and communication are in the best aspect with Mars in Leo in your eleventh house of friends, groups and organizations. Both of those transits are what we call harmoniously sextiling your Sun at sixty degree angles. There will be many social events you can attend and you’ll most certainly have the gift for gab. You’ll also have the desire to read, study or research some things of interest. There may be many short trips, some buying and/or selling and negotiations. Word to the wise: don’t buy anything mechanical until January 26. That includes anything from cars to computers. The prices will be better and you won’t get a lemon due to Mercury and Mars going retrograde. If there is a competitive situation or someone tries to get to you, just use Venus’ energy to smooth things over. After you’re done conjuring up a spell of sugar plum fairies, your competitor won’t even know what happened to them. You’re also in a transition period of letting some things go and possibly moving, so if that doesn’t work, know that you can’t please everyone. There are many people that are on auto pilot, not having the ability to stay in present time. You have the support to be more aware, so you can be behind the steering wheel of your life. Learn from it so you can use it later.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Feeling ambitious? You should be. Mars in Leo is transiting your tenth house of career, giving you the energy you need to give your job a big boost. VI’s and highers up are watching you, so if you watch your Ps and Qs, your reputation will climb. Make your most important moves now, because Mars will go out of orbit from December 21 to March 11. When a planet is in a retrograde period, it’s energy is not available as usual. It shifts into the planning stage. You’ll want to take that time to make plans for a big career push later. Mars will stay in that portion of your life until June 2010, so learn how to use it best. The Sun and Venus in the sign of Sagittarius are in your twelfth house of the subconscious. Make a plan. Decide what you really want and hand it up to the Universe to help you rearrange your life to bring about your wishes. Keep track of your dreams this month and get at least eight hours of sleep a night. There will be clues to what you are to take action on. As I advised recently, this is a good time to add a few key items to spruce up your wardrobe. It’s also a great time to feel warm and fuzzy with friends and family. There’s some deep work going on here, which is right up your alley. Use it and enjoy.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This is your month to recharge your batteries for the year. Single Sagittariuses might meet a foreigner that turns your gears. Mars is in your area of the zodiac, the ninth house of foreign travel, media, publishing, law, higher wisdom, higher education and last, but not least, music and dancing. This birthday year Venus has joined the Sun in your sign. You feel good about yourself. If you use this great energy before the retrograde of Mars and Mercury on December 21 and 27 respectively, you can pull off anything you want. Then from late December up until March 11, make a plan. Decide what you want, believe you can have it, believe you deserve it, believe it’s possible for you. Then close your eyes every morning for several minutes and visualize your goal and feel the feelings that you already have it. Come out of that and focus on what you’re grateful for already and really enjoy it. Be yourself without fear or apology. Now go have some fun!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Do you have the feeling that you are waiting for something? You can sense something major is in the works. Well, all Capricorns have now embarked on a life changing process that will last through 2020, as Pluto is in your sign. The reason for the length of this process is because it takes Pluto, the planet of transformation, 248 years to transit the zodiac (in contrast to the Sun, which takes one year). Metaphorically, this is the classic ‘death and rebirth.’ You are going through a sloughing off of the old you and the new you will emerge like the Phoenix Bird at the end of it. The best advice is to embrace change and use it to your advantage. Currently, you’ve got Mercury, mind and communication, in your sign as well. If you experience an epiphany of some sort, be sure to write it down. Keep a journal of your thoughts and dreams. You’ve got the Sun and Venus in Sagittarius in your twelfth house of the subconscious. This a good time to make plans for your new birthday year coming up. Because you are the sign that works slowly and steadily towards your goals; come up with a strategy that works for you and do it daily. One annoyance for the next seven months is Mars in Leo in your eighth house of shared resources, shared property, insurance matters, taxes, inheritances and debt. You may have to pay some money out or you may receive a check. Mars is not the most auspicious planet for money matters, so you might have to fight for what is yours. Dealing with other people’s values is not always easy, but being one of the most tenacious signs, it is highly likely that you’ll come out on top. Speaking of which, the good news is that Mars in that placement may stir your passions beyond anything you could imagine. Picture yourself in a dramatic role where you wipe your accountant’s desk clean of all those dusty files and forms and….. well, you know the rest.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Shouldn’t we all just love each other unconditionally? Isn’t that our biggest goal on this level of existence, after all? Well, I’m sure you’re realizing that not everyone has your lofty, angelic views of life. As difficult as it may be, for the next seven months, you have Mars opposing your Sun in the sign of Leo in your seventh house of relationships, partnerships and long term friendships. That could possibly be a good thing, sending great energy in that direction. Conversely, it could be confrontational. Practicing patience and tolerance isn’t easy when you just can’t understand what the problem is. You find those people annoying. Well, I’m here to tell you that those people, more often than not, don’t get you. Yes, reality is a relative thing, but you have to sit down and listen to what they are feeling. Don’t make the mistake of blowing them off and walking away. Feelings are a tough subject for you, something you will continue to learn through your entire life. Take what they are telling you to heart and work out a compromise, even if you have to fake it. The good news is that the Sun and Venus are currently transiting your eleventh house of social events, friends and groups in the fun and flirty sign of Sagittarius. So for the next couple of weeks, kick up your heels and enjoy yourself. This is also the best time of the year for you to think about your dreams and wishes. Keep a small notebook in your bag and jot them down when they come to mind. Not to worry, all that other stuff will still be there when you get back from your holiday.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Are you having fun with your career right now? Are you learning something new that will enhance your job or craft? Well the Sun and Venus in Sagittarius are shining a spotlight over your tenth house of career at high noon in your chart. To add support in this area, Mars in Leo is transiting your sixth house of work. You’ll notice that you are being noticed more often than usual. You may be asked for your creative input on big projects. VIPs, bosses, teachers, parents and important clients are clamoring for your insight. They think you’re special. Finally, others are realizing your worth. Whether you realize it or not, you’ve worked all your life to get to this point. The mutual reception of your planet Neptune being in Aquarius and Uranus being in your sign of Pisces has put a genius like spin on your life since 2003. I’m here to tell you that you are special and that this is the prelude to 2010, one of the best year’s of your life. Yes, you heard it right. In fact, you will be the most blessed sign of all next year. Don’t let all this go to your head. Stay focused and on track. Oh… and just a reminder, don’t drink too much at the holiday parties or you could end up on Facebook and undue all your great progress.
NOTE: When reading any horoscopes, be sure to read your Ascendant or Rising Sign first. Then your Sun and Moon signs to get a better picture of what is in store for you personally. Everyone:
This is the time of year when we are gathered together to express our love and appreciation. We are in the clear for another week to don our gay apparel, deck the halls and spin the dreidle. But when the holidays actually arrive, it appears that nature has some important plans for us that don’t include hot totties and a lot of merriment. Both Mars and Mercury have now slowed down and are going retrograde on December 21 and 27, respectively. Mars rules energy of all types (good and not so good). Mercury is the planet of the mind, communication, travel and mechanical objects. Just to give you an idea of the temperament of this combination- it hasn’t happened since the 1960′s when we invented the saying, “Make love, not war.”
When a planet pulls away from the pack, it doesn’t perform in its usual manner. To get an idea of having both Mercury and Mars working together in this way, picture a CD that is frozen on a high pitched note. Because humans have a tendency to separate themselves from nature, we get very irritated when communications are scrambled or things don’t work out. It’s always the weakest link that is affected first. If your car or phone, internet connection, computer, fax machine, printer, etc. has been acting up, or you haven’t doubled checked your reservations, or your relationships are shaky, there may be a breakdown.
Good advice for this season is to double check or fix that thing that needs your attention. Also, finish with holiday shopping this week, so your loved ones don’t have to return their gifts, not until after Mercury’s energies are available on January 26. Especially electronics or gifts with any moving parts.
On the home front, if you notice a significant other, roommate, neighbor, relative, friend, co-worker or someone in a parking lot going haywire, just be calm and walk away. They have no idea why they short circuited and don’t care.
There is a reason for everything. Nature is helping us to be quiet and make some big plans for the booming year ahead. Take some time for yourself to research what direction you’d like to go in by June 2010 and start making a vision board that expresses those wishes.
A word to the wise: plan a nice, quiet holiday, including New Year’s, at home this year if possible.
