He had an extraordinary way of relating to the patients in a compassionate, positive way. Mike's jokes were truly awful but he was so spirited the delivery was worth a good laugh. He is missed. When he talked to you he made you feel you were his best friend. I used to work at the local Williams Bros Market and we'd always chit chat when he came in. Sure his jokes more often than not were corny but he was so animated when he told them, you'd laugh. I once told him I collected autographs as a hobby. He later gave me Anthony Davis and Herb Caens autograph and had them personalized to me. He didn't have to do that but he that's the kind of dude he was, a real people person. I once lost a Super Bowl bet and had to roll an egg with my nose before the store opened at 6am. I told him about my stunt and he got outta bed early to show up to cheer me on. As we age through life people come and go. If we're lucky some of them will leave great memories and you will be richer for it. That's how I feel about Mike. He left us too soon.
