Maria terminates Arnold after learning of love child

May 17, 2011

Former California First Lady Maria Shriver left her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger last January after the former governor admitted fathering a child more than a decade ago with a longtime member of their household staff. [LA Times]

Shriver moved out of the family’s Brentwood mansion after Schwarzenegger acknowledged the paternity. The staff member worked for the family for 20 years, retiring in January.

“After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago,” Schwarzenegger said Monday night in a statement. “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.

“I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time,” the statement concluded. “While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not. “

A spokesman for Shriver said she had no comment.

The household staff member, who is not being identified, voluntarily left her position with the couple earlier this year after reaching a longstanding goal of working for them for two decades. “I wanted to achieve my 20 years, then I asked to retire,” she said, adding she received a severance payment and “left on good terms with them.”

Schwarzenegger took financial responsibility for the child from the start and continued to provide support, according to a source who declined to be identified because of the former governor’s request for privacy.

Don’t care for her politics much but I’ve always admired Maria. She’s smart, beautiful, classy and philantrophic…not to mention a seemingly excellent mother.

When her own awesome mother Eunice Kennedy Shriver died in ’09, Maria gave an amazing euology.

It’s hard to watch it without shedding a tear or two. I’m glad Maria’s folks aren’t alive anymore to witness this awful debacle.

Blessings to Maria and the children.

Can’t believe that cold Kennedy woman is turning her back (moved out, etc.) on her 10-year-old stepchild. I understand her anger at Arnie, but geez, there’s no need to take it out on the child.

.

(The has been a test of the racket spin machine. Had this been a real spin event, you probably would have agreed with me.)

She is not a Kennedy , she is a Shriver , her dad was “the” numerary of Opus Dei north America, Catholic lay royalty the Kennedys are lucky to have risen to Shriver level, Arnie more astute ‘marrying in ‘he has a nose for power .

Sorry but her mother was Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of the late President and two senators.

She was a grand lady and I’m glad she didn’t live to see the upcoming paparazzi frenzy that’s about to befall the former California First Lady.

As for Arnie, he deserves what he gets.Hope she takes him to the cleaners

Wow, for once a Kennedy got cheated on.

How in the world does this other woman have a baby with Arnold and still work for the family for another 10 years? Did Maria never see the little chip off the old block?

That’s one incredible lady for keeping this a secret for all those years. He must have been paying a pretty penny to keep her quiet.

As for Arnold being President, he was definitely NOT born in the US so he can’t become President. Though I believe he can still be a senator or representative, but not the Speaker of the House because that person is third in live for the presidency.

He could never be Sec. of State either because that person is fourth in line for the Presidency.

Anyway, good for Maria, she shows me that she has strength of character if not being a little naive all these years.

Arnold Apologizes for Bad Behavior

Fox News October 3, 2003

Schwarzenegger apologized for offending any women who claim he had sexually harassed them.

“I have offended people, and to those people who I have offended I am deeply sorry about that and I apologize because that is not what I tried to do,” Schwarzenegger said in a rally in San Diego.

Allegations surfaced Thursday in the LA Times by six women who accused the Republican action star of groping them on movie sets and in other settings over the last three decades.

Schwarzenegger said that harassment charges are untrue, but added that “where there’s smoke there’s fire, that is true, so I want to say yes, I have behaved badly.

“Yes, it is true that I was on rowdy movie sets and I have done things that were not right which I thought then was playful but now I recognize that I offended people,” he added.

Schwarzenegger’s wife, broadcast journalist Maria Shriver had no comment, her spokeswoman said.

Arnold Allegedly Praised Hitler in 1975 Interview

Fox News October 3, 2003

Arnold Schwarzenegger tried to prevent sexual harassment stories from stalling his campaign, negative reports surfaced Thursday night about the Hollywood star once speaking fondly of Adolf Hitler.

ABC News and the New York Times obtained copies of an unpublished book proposal with quotations from a verbatim transcript of an interview Schwarzenegger gave in 1975 while making the film “Pumping Iron.”

Asked who his heroes were, he answered, “I admired Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education, up to power. I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for what he did with it.”

He is quoted as saying he wished he could have “the feeling like Kennedy had, you know, to speak to maybe 50,000 people at one time and having them cheer, or like Hitler in the Nuremberg stadium. And have all those people scream at you and just being total agreement whatever you say.”

Schwarzenegger, with wife Maria Shriver at his side, told a late-night news conference at Los Angeles’ Century Plaza Hotel that he didn’t recall making the reported Hitler remarks.

Now 8 years later August 17, 2011

The only way he will become president is in show business world.

Arnold was to host the Prince Charles’s son and his new wife.

If I was the prince, I would cancel because Arnold might temp the new princess with his looks, mighty body, wealth, power, fame and accent (He has no shame!)

If we are to equally blame the gals, which one?

Looks like the only way he’ll ever be president of the US is in a fictional featture film.

“If we are to equally blame the gals, which one”

You kinda lost me there. Which girls? You can’t mean Maria. Of course the maid shares blame in this but Arnie is the husband so he’s the one that is supposed to be committed through thick and thin to his wife. The maid is simply cheap ho. Of course I don’t know all sides of this so I feel a bit bad for making such judgements but I can’t really see any other sides to this.

Heard this afternnon the women may not be a “maid”, they had other staffers in the house, nannies, secretary, etc.

Typo

Its totally Arnold’s doing

He’s a born non-stop bullshitter

Motion to change Arnold’s moniker from “The Governator” to ” The inseminator”

Or the Sperminator.

Funny I was just telling SLORider that I kinda liked Arnie. I didn’t feel he was bad guy and that he tried to the best of his ability to be a good governer. But I certainly don’t respect what he’s done here. Too bad that he ends up doing nothing for our state and that he’s nothing more than just an ego driven dog. That’s what I get for trying to like a Republican (just kidding I know that we have our fair share of dogs). I wouldn’t be quite so hard on him if he hadn’t waited 10 years to tell his wife.

Watch that use of ‘dog’!!!!

Oops!

Either hell has frozen over or pigs are flying cuz for once I agree with you typo, 100%

Brrr, I thought it was just a passing cold front until that pig fly by window.

I’m going to respect Arnold’s request and not respond.

At least he’s earned respect from someone.

From what I gather, he’s always been a bit of the “sleep around” type. Hard for a leopard to change his spots, even if they marry for political reasons.

Even with his owning up to it, I don’t really think any more highly of him. And while it is not timely, I’d seriously like to ask Maria: what did you expect? Especially back then, knowing his history? Kind of like Hillary Clinton: at some point, they just had to know. At least Maria did the honorable thing. Time will tell if it was the “right” thing.
