Jackson’s 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo went off the road and down a steep embankment, rolling and coming to a stop upside down, about a half mile south of Toro Creek, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The car was submerged in a creek bed about 100 feet below the highway.

The date and time of the accident are not known; there were no witnesses. The CHP and a tow truck operator discovered the vehicle while responding to another incident.

Jackson, a former Marine, was a diabetic and the father of three.

As tough and reflexive as I feel at 56, I certainly pray to God that I have the wherewithall to know when to hang it up…PLEASE don’t let me believe I can do more….

That’s a tough way to go for a tough old guy. Memory eternal.

RIP Mr. Jackson – I sincerely hope you did not suffer long. My sincere condolences to your children and family.
