A man suspected of stabbing a Heritage Ranch resident following an argument last week turned himself in Wednesday evening.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Billy Benjamin Hernandez, 40, for attempted murder after he turned himself in at the North Patrol Station in Templeton.

Hernandez fled after the alleged stabbing on Nov. 1 of a man at home in Heritage Ranch, outside of Paso Robles.

The Sheriff’s Office says witnesses reported that Hernandez stabbed the victim multiple times and then fled by car.

Deputies booked Hernandez in San Luis Obispo County Jail on a $1 million bail.

The identity and condition of the victim remain withheld. The victim received treatment at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center following the stabbing.
