Guadalupe man sentenced to 63 years for murder

A Guadalupe man found guilty of murdering a 32-year-old man and dumping the body in a Nipomo field was sentenced to 63 years to life by a Santa Barbara court.
Alejandro Carrillo, a reputed gang member, shot Pedro Gonzalez at close range in Guadalupe than dumped his body in a Nipomo broccoli field owned by San Ysidro Farms. On the morning of Feb. 14, 2010, workers at the farm discovered Gonzalez’ body on the shoulder of Bonita School Road and called 911.
Investigators from San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties determined a lead gang member had ordered Carrillo to shoot and kill Gonzalez. Officers arrested Carrillo, who had a loaded .357 revolver in his waistband, 14 days after the murder. He was later caught concealing narcotics and concealing a shank while housed in county jail.
The court found Carrillo guilty of first degree murder with the use of a gun causing death, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics in jail, and possession of a shank in jail, all with the criminal street gang allegation.
