Infant injured in Los Osos three car crash

March 17, 2013

carAn infant and two others were injured in a three car crash on Friday night in Los Osos.

Shortly after 9 p.m., Julio Padilla, 23, was driving southbound on South Bay Boulevard when he rear ended a vehicle stopped at a red light, and then that car crashed into the vehicle in front of it.

A four-month old in the back of one of the cars suffered serious injuries and was flown to Children’s Hospital of the Central Valley. Stacy Gallardo, 20, and Wendy Gallardo, 18, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies arrested Padilla for driving under the influence and causing injuries. He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $100,000.

He should be charged with attempted murder.

Once Mr Padilla lands in prison — hopefully sooner than later – – he should be required to have photos of the baby, in the hospital, on his cell walls. That way, he will be forced to look at them 24/7. I have very, very little sympathy for drunk drivers. If you’re going to drink, do it at home and stay there, or if you’re out, make sure you have a designated driver. Period.

I doubt Mr. Padilla has the kind of mentality that would allow him to care

about anyone else. He’s a drunk.

Really, Smiley? Have you actually sampled the chow they serve in SLO County Jail? They don’t call them “cat food sandwiches” for no reason.

Good. Anyone who gets drunk, plows into another car and critically injures a baby SHOULD be served cat food. That’s all Julio Padilla–and any other DUI driver–deserves.

He will probably get very little jail time, will have a public defender paid for by us, and better chow and health care than our servicemen and women have. We are all losers any way you cut the deck in this state.

Julio Padilla should be in jail for the rest of his life, because in this way, everyone wins. If Julio got out into the public again, and if we actually followed biblical principles for a change, then he should have a mill stone around his neck and thrown into the sea. Enough is enough!

“It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.” (Luke 17:1-2)

I believe the passage that you’re referring to refers to willful intentional harm of a minor. We can argue weather this was intentional or not.

Rambunctious,

It was intentional when Julio decided to be under the influence and therefore couldn’t control his faculties to the point of him not hitting the car in front of him. There is no need for any argument whatsoever.

Key phrase; “but woe to him through whom they do come.” They came to him, get it?

$100,000 bail; sounds about right. I do not care what this man ethnicity is; he was apparently driving under the influence and needs to answer for that. Hopefully the parents had their child in a car seat that was properly buckled in; let’s all just hope that the baby recovers well and quickly.

bob, if you don’t care about the guy’s ethnicity (it’s completely irrelevant, BTW) then why are you bringing it up?

Would you have made the same comment if Padilla’s last name was O’Brien or Smith? Badowski or Feldberg? Just wondering…

He wouldn’t have to.

Enjoy going down with the ship by defending senseless-ness. You’ll wonder what the hell you were thinkin’ someday..
