Templeton shooting victim identified

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man shot and killed in rural Templeton Wednesday night as 48-year-old Robert Hickey.
Preliminary findings suggest Hickey’s shooting was an accident, the sheriff’s office says. However, the investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled for March 14.
Sheriff’s deputies found Hickey dead at his rural Templeton home in the Hidden Valley Ranch properties shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday. Hickey had a gunshot wound, and the sheriff’s office deemed his death suspicious.
