23-year-old dies from drug overdose

A 23-year-old Grover Beach women died from an apparent drug overdose Wednesday morning.

Arroyo Grande Community Hospital staff called police at about 4:17 a.m. to inform them that the woman suffered a drug overdose at a residence in the 1200 block of Longbranch Avenue. The deceased’s name is not being released pending notification of her relatives.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies and police detectives are investigating the death.

An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for later this week, police said.
