Janet Napolitano

Janet Napolitano, the U.S. secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona, has been selected as the next president of the University of California system. [LATimes]

Napolitano’s appointment is the first time in its 145-year history the 10-campus system will been headed by a woman. It is also unusual to have a politician selected for an appointment generally given to an academic.

UC officials believe Napolitano’s experiences in disaster responses will help UC administer its energy and nuclear weapons labs and to get federal funding for research

Huge, HUGE mistake and I hope the students protest the heck out of this even if they are doing it on their parents dime. This is a catastrophe.

Can’t wait to see how much this will cost us!

But Mr President what if she writes a book? Aaaah just get her a cushy life time appointment. Call Governor Brown. This is how it works in the new America…

Brownie you are doing a heck of a Job!

Interesting that no one in Washington was on this story because it is being reported that Gov Brown, Obama and Napolitano worked this deal. The best news day’s seem to be Friday’s these days, as 1) they announce the delay of Obamacare for businesses, 2) they will not e verifying income requirements for individuals stating they qualify for exchanges under Obamacare, and now Napolitano is appointed and Gov Brown in on his way to Scotland and Ireland and a “mostly” personal vacation and Obama is playing 34, yes, 34 rounds of golf this weekend.

I strongly urge everyone to follow the news feeds on Friday!

Fridays are also good days to serve subpoenas

Now UC will have someone who will just declare that “the quality of education at UC is better than it’s ever been” or that the “student cost of a UC education is cheaper than it’s ever been” as in “the border is more secure than it’s ever been”.

how long does this go on?

Once again, it boils down to $$$. Not excellence in education, not academic experience, but $$$.

good one, way higher than my level of thinking

Well, they hired the right person, because the UC system is indeed a disaster!

No, “the system is working the way it is supposed to .”

“UC officials believe Napolitano’s experiences in disaster responses will help UC administer its energy and nuclear weapons labs and to get federal funding for research”

And this helps “Joe Lunch Bucket Student”? Guess it does if Joe doesn’t want to get irradiated.

ultra sonic probing worrisome growth inside our public research university.
