The city of San Luis Obispo hired Wayne Padilla as its permanent Finance and Information Technology Director.

Padilla has served as interim finance director since January during which he helped craft the city’s $111 million budget.

When Padilla took over the position, he became the city’s fourth finance director in a period of less than three years. The previous director Charles Bourbeau left after just one year, citing health problems.

Prior to serving as interim finance director, Padilla was the Assistant City Administrator and finance director of Chowchilla.

Padilla will make an annual salary of $147,186. He manages a department of 22 staff members with an annual budget of $5.5 million.

“I look forward to working with the city team, council and our residents to ensure continued exceptional service to the community and financial sustainability,” Padilla said.

Another member of the $100,000 club and likely with benefits he would make it to the $200,000 club. How much did the recent people make? this information would helpful.

Voters of SLO you certainly get what you want by putting the council members in office.
