SLO parking lot jumper identified

slo parkThe San Luis Obispo County Coroner has identified the man who jumped to his death from the top of a San Luis Obispo parking structure Thursday as 26-year-old Brian Joseph Lawler.

Lawler jumped off the city parking garage at the corner of Morro and Palm streets around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Emergency responders transported him to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Lawler was a San Luis Obispo native and an award-winning collegiate diver at Boston University and UC Berkeley. Lawler was also a member of the 2002 U.S. Diving Junior World Team.

Poor soul may have been high (or low) to do such a thing knowing now that he was a diver. Sad, Sad times.
