Train hits man in Pismo Beach

tracksAn Amtrak train hit a 22-year-old man who was crossing the tracks near U.S. Highway 101 and Five Cities Drive in Pismo Beach on Tuesday.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Pismo Beach police officers arrived to find the injured man near the tracks. Emergency personnel then transported the man to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators from Union Pacific and Amtrak police departments are investigating the accident.

    It really is hard to feel sorry for this person “if” they tried to beat the train by running across the tracks at the last second, like one does by going around the crossing gates when they are down blocking cars from an oncoming train.

    This fool will probably sue Amtrak because of his outright stupidity, and they will pay to get it off the books.

    Stupidity and ignorance should NOT be rewarded because it self perpetuates itself if it does.
