San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s detectives arrested an Oceano man Wednesday for the June murder of a Nipomo resident.

Joseph Adrian Munoz, 36, had been in San Luis Obispo County Jail since June 23 for a probation violation. Since his arrest, Munoz became a person of interest in an investigation into the stabbing death of a Nipomo man.

On June 21, 25-year-old Joseph Luis Padilla was stabbed to death during a fight in the 1300 block of 19th Street in Oceano.

Wednesday, sheriff’s detectives re-booked Munoz into San Luis Obispo County Jail for one count of murder in the death of Padilla.

An investigation into the homicide is ongoing, but the Sheriff’s office turned over the case to the San Luis Obipso County District Attorney.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone who provides information that assists in the conviction of Munoz. Crime Stoppers can be reached at 549-STOP.

Are you saying you don’t think those neck-tattoos are attractive?
