Mexican national identified as victim found in Nipomo ditch

nipomoThe San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body of a homicide victim found in a rural Nipomo ditch as a 26-year-old Mexican national.

A field worker found the body in September partially submerged in a ditch near Division Street and Bonita School Road.

After receiving fingerprints from the Mexican Consulate, investigators identified the man as Silvestre Montalban Lopez of Guerrero, Mexico.

The investigation into Lopez’s death has revealed that the homicide occurred outside of San Luis Obispo County.

The Sheriff’s Office has turned over the investigation to the Santa Maria Police Department.

This happens often in the farm fields of Oxnard….dead bodies showing up.

A few newborn dead babies have been found too.
