San Luis Obispo County is getting ready for the Super Bowl, and CalCoastNews plans to bring you the highlights of local celebrations.

CalCoastNews reporters will traverse the county covering Super Bowl Sunday action. On the docket is an expected appearance by a California gubernatorial candidate, as well as a radio host obsessed with the Seattle Seahawks.

The host faces stiff competition, though, for the title of leading Seahawks fan in San Luis Obispo County.

Oceano resident Dane Senser managed to deliver a Seahawks victory speech before the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors Tuesday as board chairman Bruce Gibson interrupted other speakers for allegedly addressing issues that are not within the purview of the board. Senser even received a “Go Seahawks” remark from Gibson.

Senser later explained his funky Super Bowl outfit to CalCoastNews. Watch the video below:

You are 2 days late.

Just wondering where the coverage was.

If “covering” is another word for “bar-hopping”, you don’t need the Superbowl to do it. If you are going from bar to bar, be prepared to talk to the most inane and uninformed bandwagon “fans” in the nation. Superbowl Sunday crowds rival the St. Patrick’s Day and New Year’s Eve crowds as Worst Bar Crowds of the Year. Have fun anyway. Go Packers!

Damn, I was already to give your comments a big “thumbs up” and then you had to go ruin it with the last two words.

It’s okay. I’m used to it.
