A Mexican drug cartel hit man confessed last week to killing more than 30 people, nine of whom he murdered in California. [LA Times]

Jose Manuel Martinez, 51, allegedly told investigators in Alabama that he has worked for a Mexican drug cartel since he was 16, collecting debts and keeping 25 percent of the money. Martinez is accused of execution-style killings, as well as of murdering victims in front of their families. The murders date back more than 30 years.

Martinez lived part-time in Richgrove, a small farm town about 40 miles north of Bakersfield. He is accused of eight Central Valley murders spanning 1980 to 2011.

One Northern Santa Barbara County murder is also attributed to Martinez. Investigators say he shot a 30-year-old man several times in 1980 while the victim was working on a ranch near Santa Ynez. A 17-year-old was also shot during the incident but survived.

Tulare County ranchers found several other victims lying in fields and along country roads. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating unsolved murders with possible links to Martinez.

Martinez was arrested at an Arizona border crossing last year in connection with a March 2013 murder in Alabama.

I can’t believe the partisan politics, on both sides, that has to come into play here. REALLY PEOPLE??? This guy would most likely have existed with or without any and all the arguments I am reading here. These type have existed going back to gangster days, through the Mafia years, etc. Through every type and name of political party in charge.

How about putting the focus back on the piece of shit at hand? No let us blame each other. We didn’t create the man. His lack of morals and value to life created him. Folks when we continue at every opportunity to play the blame game on the simple stuff, HOW IN THE HELL do you think we will EVER get together on the real problems to fix this country?!!!!

This is the next Republican nominee for President !

When the ban on assault weapons expired a few years ago US gun dealers started

selling assault weapons to the cartels. This is when the mass killings began. This has to do with the NRA and gun nuts and not Eric Holder. I doubt this bit of information will

make any difference to your belief system.

You’re right about that info not affecting my beliefs but that is because it takes more than a coincidence to get me to share your beliefs. The mere fact that you chose to use the very vague “boogie-man” term “assault weapons” indicates that you are somewhat ignorant of the subject to start. I could probably find a hundred or more other coincidences that would provide possible explanations of varying credibility for the rise in violence in Mexico.

While numerous ones contribute, the biggest two are the rise in power of the cartels themselves (a gradual process that started long ago) and our continued idiotic “war on drugs” which provided the funding for their rise. (Are you aware that one of the strongest and most violent cartel is run by a rogue ex-officer that we helped train in urban warfare?)

While Holder’s continuation and expansion of the “Fast and Furious” program contributed to the situation, it was relatively minor — almost as small as the expiration of Feinstein’s dog-and-pony-show of a gun ban bill. Be careful that in your perceived criticism of pro-gun folks as blind believers you don’t just blindly believe the propaganda from the other side.

If you are talking about Fast and Furious, then the culprit is Eric Holder. If not, then your information is wrong. References to your sources of information?

Since he’s never had a “real” job we will probably be on the hook for his public defender, too.

As long as we are on the topic of murder, how about tax evasion? It worked back in the 1930s so why not now? Let’s get back some of that money and at least provide some restitution to victims’ families, the state, etc.

Oh, for heaven’s sake. Stop pointing fingers. The guy had no problem murdering people for money. I don’t think that is consistent with left, right, Christian, Islam, or any other belief.

Would anyone be surprised if he was on welfare?

Our United States Attorney General Eric Holder probably provided Mr. Martinez with the weapon from his fast and furious operation.

I suspect you are referring to the operation that began in 2006 (“Operation Wide Receiver”), and was expanded in 2007 (the Hernandez case), and continued in 2008. Eric Holder wasn’t confirmed in his job until February 2009. Bad idea, all around, but you mislead people (perhaps including yourself) when you blame Eric Holder for a dumb idea that began under GW Bush….

“Project Gunrunner” was begun in 2006 by the ATF field offices in Tucson and Phoenix Arizona. This was the ATF under the purview of the GWBush administration.

Martinez began his ‘career’ in assassination in 1980, consequently with the Reagan administration and their lax gun policies.

The guy murdered for money. He is not the type who will decide to murder or not murder depending on how difficult guns and ammunition are to get.

I think that Holder deserves criticism for what he did but not in this case. Mr. Martinez started back in the Reagan era and had his techniques and weapons refined long before Obama came into office.

It was a joke, you guys need to lighten up.

DAMN IT TO HELL! ENOUGH!

This Satanic looking Jose Manuel Martinez is to be eliminated because he has admitted to said murders, period! Enough of the placating to these known murderers! The Hebrew God’s words should be taken into account post haste!

“Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.” (Leviticus 24:17)

“Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death.” (Exodus 21:12)

“Moreover, you shall accept no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall be put to death.” (Numbers 35:31)

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.” (Genesis 9:6)

Yes, but then of course there is the book known as the “New Testament,” subscribed to by Christians, that takes a different view of things. Thanks for the hell-bent revenge blood-soaking, however. Very nice.

Kevin99, a factual word please,

Jesus stated; “If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.” (John 15:10) “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) Jesus can only keep His Father’s commands in the Old Testament, and his words will never pass away, therefore, the Old Testament is to be followed today, period!

The Hebrew God’s Divine Instructions in righteousness are found in the first five Books of the Bible, without which man would have NO blueprint for moral or holy living. Neither Jesus nor His apostles ever spoke against the Torah nor suggested that after Jesus’ death the Torah was to become null and void! Paul verified this when he said: “Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law. (Romans 3:31) The Old Testament Laws are to be followed today, period!

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus makes it clear that He DID NOT come to destroy, rescind, nullify or abrogate the Old Testament Laws, all 613 of them: “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18). With these words, Jesus likened the continuance of the Mosaic Laws to the permanence of heaven and earth, get it?

Now, has Heaven and earth passed away or disappeared yet? NO IT HASN’T! Therefore, as Jesus stated with specificity, the true Christian is to follow every jot and tittle of the 613 commanded laws of the Old Testament until the earth and heaven do pass away!

Besides, God does not change (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17) therefore, do you want an omniscient God, and what that entails, changing his mind, when the bible says that he doesn’t change? Furthermore, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16) ALL SCRIPTURE INCLUDES ALL OF THE OLD TESTAMENT COMMANDS!

If you want to be an author of a “Third Testament,” with your biblical ignorance stated therein, then you go right ahead! But, you’ll pay upon Judgment Day!

I guess that means you won’t be posting on the Sabbath, right Ted?

Paso,

Posting is NOT considered work anymore than having to eat and breath, because the enlightenment to the pseudo-christians of the Hebrew God’s true words must continue to be given!

Can you imagine the pseudo-christians that state the Old Testament is thrown away, whereas, no Adam and Eve and the original sin scenario, therefore, no need for Jesus whatsoever to save us from our sins? Or, the fact that the Ten Commandments that everyone wants in schools and in public places would also be null and void if one is not to follow the Old Testament? Furthermore, the 613 Commandments in the Old Testament are the morals and ethics that God has set forth. Funny, isn’t it?

Anyway, that is why the Hebrew God has sent me here at CCN to enlighten the masses, amen.

Yeah, and the Old Testament isn’t for sissies, either.

You do realize that many, most, consider you a false prophet.

Paso_Guy,

I am considered a false prophet? Surely you jest!?

First thing, let me put the false prophet to rest: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1) Now, do you or anyone else deny that the passages that I bring forth historically as God intended are from the inspired word of the Hebrew God? Did you say no? Good. Then in no way in hell can I even be considered a false prophet. Shame on you! I will include you into my prayers tonight.

If you want to see an array of real false prophets, then watch late night television with the likes of Peter Popoff (double entendre I am sure), Joel Osteen, Jack Van Impe, Pat Robertson, Joyce Meyers, et al. I take exception for you to even place me in the ranks of these charlatans! I’ll say another prayer for you tonight. Such insolence!

This godly passages is apropos for these minions of Satan listed above; “And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.” (2 Peter 2:3)

Another proverbial nail in the coffin for those that are ignorant of not following the Old Testament resides with this inspirational passage, to wit: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21) The Old Testament writings, as horrific and disgusting as some may be, ARE THE WILL OF GOD BECAUSE HE INSPIRED THEM! Therefore, the pseudo-christian has to follow the Old Testament because its just plain ol’ simple math. 2+2=4.

Thank you, Ted. I was just thinking, “We need Ted Slanders’ voice of reason to deal with this,” and, like Rumpelstiltskin, there you are!

Thank you Sister of Eve, Mary. Even though you’re suppose to remain silent because you’re a woman, I will say an extra prayer for you tonight in asking for your forgiveness.

“But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp the authority over the man, but to be in SILENCE? (Timothy 2:12)

Self policing.

Confessions like that could get him deported….. Not!

No, no…he’ll be granted amnesty, provided a scholarship to law school, provided a drivers license and insurance, and urged to run for public office.

Hell he belongs on the city council of SLO town , maybe even mayor

“No, no…he’ll be granted amnesty, provided a scholarship to law school, provided a drivers license and insurance, and urged to run for public office.”

Only if he swears a blood oath to the Republican party..

Heck, they’ll probably give him a million bucks in seed money !

Most of his murders happened in the U.S. That is where he should be prosecuted.
