Gibson, Neal cover for Hill on CAPSLO dustup

April 5, 2014

adam hill newFollowing a feud between County Supervisor Adam Hill and the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County (CAPSLO), board of supervisor chairman Bruce Gibson and county counsel Rita Neal came to Hill’s defense claiming the controversial supervisor had always recused himself from issues regarding homeless services.

However, multiple videos of board meetings show Hill participating in discussions about funding homeless services, even though, at the time, his girlfriend was the director of the county’s homeless services program. Public officials are suppose to recuse themselves, meaning they do not participate in discussion or votes regarding an issue, when they have a conflict of interest.

At Tuesday’s board of supervisors meeting, several speakers reprimanded Hill for personal attacks he launched on CAPSLO executives after they demoted his fiance Dee Torres in March from her position as homeless services director. After public comment, Gibson said that although he did not agree with Hill’s remarks, Hill had always recused himself from board matters pertaining to CAPSLO and homeless services. Neal, too, said that Hill had always recused himself.

A review of board meetings, however, shows that Hill has often participated in hearings on funding for homeless services, much of which goes to CAPSLO.

In December 2012, Hill participated in a preliminary hearing on the distribution of U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant funds in which several CAPSLO employees made requests for funding. Hill argued that distributing grants to a smaller number of nonprofits would benefit the county.

When the board awarded the grant money a few months later, Hill again participated in the discussion, arguing the county should divert funds away from an Oceano drainage project and spend them instead on homeless services. When asked for his vote on the matter, he said he was abstaining.

Last December, Hill stayed behind the dais but did not comment during a hearing on HUD grant funds. However, in Dec. 2011, he chaired the hearing on distribution of HUD money.

Earlier that year, Hill chaired another hearing on funding allocations for nonprofits. During the June 2011 meeting, Hill accused North County Connection, a nonprofit competing with CAPSLO for money, of racism, anti-semitism and homophobia while the board considered a funding reduction for the organization.

Since then, Hill has at times recused himself and left the dias and at other times voiced his support for funding programs dealing with CAPSLO and homelessness.

On Tuesday, Gibson and Neal also said that Hill would, in the future, recuse himself from all matters pertaining to CAPSLO.

Last September, Hill cast a vote to award CAPSLO a $361,347 mental health services contract, a contract CAPSLO would not have received without Hill’s vote. Two months prior, he voted in favor of awarding the nonprofit a $1.5 million childcare contract.

Hill did not comment Tuesday about his past approach to board hearings dealing with CAPSLO funding or to the criticism of his reaction to Torres’s demotion.

Let me get this straight…Supervisor Adam Hill, in another display of presimian chest-pounding attack, attacked CAPSLO because his fiance (Dee Torres) was demoted from director of homeless services to a manager working under the director of homeless services.

CAPSLO issued an a$$-kicking response to Adam Hill, which showed him to be the moron that he is.

Bruce Gibson and SLO County counsel have now entered into a conspiracy to coverup Hill’s aggressive attack of CAPSLO, going to the point of attempting to cover up the fact that Hill has been abusing his power as a county supervisor to fund CAPSLO even though his fiance was a direct beneficiary of his vote.

The latter point isn’t an opinion. It is a fact, documented by public records, both print and video.

I didn’t think it was possible for me to have a lower opinion of Gibson and the county counsel du juor, but apparently Gibson proved me wrong.

this was heard coming from the BOS counsel chambers…..

So it is well know that Schultz and Lueker got fired in Morro Bay because they told Irons and his two stooges that what they were doing was illegal.. What happen to them? They got fire. No wonder Neal goes along with whatever Gibson and and Hill say. But how can you go to work each day and look at yourself in the mirror being that spineless!

We all know Irons marched into Rob Schultz’s office demanding that he have his new property he bought downtown re-zoned to fit his needs, and Schultz told him that could not be done. Please elaborate Human Reason on what other illegal activities Mayor Iron’s , Christine Johnson and Noah Schmuckler are involved in? Thes 3 certainly put on their masked persona in front of the public and are wicked as can be behind closed doors.

There’s one way to find out if a man is honest – ask him. If he says, ‘Yes,’ you know he is a crook.

Irons, Smuckler, Johnson, Gibson, and Hill, ALL answered YES.

The Hill Gibson situation is very grave. The public does not know about their activity because the main stream media has not reported their transgressions. I don’t know why that is but it is disgusting to be living under a controlled media environment. I think if the public knew what was happening they would throw these filthy scum out on their arses.

SanSimeonSam……you are so right. KSBY and the Tribune hide under rocks like some scared sheep when it comes to reporting the TRUTH about what is going on in our county.

With the Trib endorsing candidates and tax increases, I don’t see how anyone can think they are impartial (fair and balanced) to local or state politics.

Sandra floated the concept that editorial and sales are separate and independent, yet everyone see’s and knows the ads that are running…

kettle,

Not everyone sees what the trib is doing….I dropped my subscription a couple of years ago when my bird died and I sold the cage on Craigs list.

Once again Adam Hill And Bruce Gibson are back in the spotlight,Make me wonder when

the voters of this county will be fed up with the two of them?

What a joke the pair of them are!

San Luis Obispo County should be embarrassed with the games they PLAY!

Good ol’ Bruce. He never lets truth get in his way.

Bruce Gibson, how many times are you going to claim a lie is true? As long as it takes I guess.

You are a disgrace.

As for Rita Neal, she knows who butters her toast.

I don’t know which is more dumbfounding. Hill and his actions or the people that watch his actions and vote him back in. Let’s see if these same moron’s vote him back again next time he runs.

Morons does not require an apostrophe. LOL

Well if that helps make your day, glad to help.

An exclamation mark would be more appropriate.

Might be interesting to take note of which local Morro Bay officials host re-election events for said supervisors…….and in so condone their actions inside and outside of the “office”.

Iron’s alignment with Gibson is just ONE MORE reason to vote the guy off his pedestal, and out of office!

If the main print news publication in our county abuses its power to be handmaidens for the most corrupt entities in our county, the vast majority of county residents are clueless about what is really going on in our county.

One more untruth from a public official. Do you think it will be the last? Only until the next one.

“The Party’s modus operandi in maintaining power is to shift blame to a designated scapegoat, toward which all of its constituents’ hatred and violence may be directed.”

1984

Yeah, but this set of lies is insulting. For heaven’s sake, they outright lie even though there are both print and video records documenting Hill’s constant pimping of his position as county supervisor to benefit his…whatever..Dee Torres, who USED to be head of CAPSLO’s homeless services but who has been demoted to just a manager.

I don’t blame hill for being the lying pig that he his. It is just his nature. Once again, if his constituents are stupid enough to vote him into office then they can roll around in the pig crap with him.

You are correct, if that is what his voters want. I for one can not vote for his clone, Ms. Ray in District 4, I am still waiting for her to say something that separates herself from Mr. Hill but we hear nothing for her. I would think a comment on this issue would help but something tells me she will say nothing or something that really doesn’t take a stand against the Mr. Hill/Gibson type of government.

It, unfortunately, is not that simple.

When the major source of print news in our county, the tribune, plays obsequious handmaiden to the most corrupt entities in our county, the majority of the county’s citizens will not be truly informed.
