Burglar snatches safe from Morro Bay restaurant

Morro Bay police are searching for a burglar who stole a safe from a safe from an Embarcadero restaurant early Monday morning.
A man wearing a mask, black baseball cap and blue hooded jacket broke into the Dutchman Seafood House restaurant around 3:30 a.m. Monday. The suspect walked out with the restaurant’s safe, surveillance footage shows.
The theft amounted to approximately $7,000, according to Morro Bay police.
Officers have yet to identify the suspect. The police department is requesting that anyone with information pertaining to the burglary contact Sgt. Jody Cox or Detective Dale Cullum at 772-6225.
