Family cat saves boy from dog attack

May 15, 2014

dog bite 1A video posted on YouTube appears to show a dog pulling a young Bakersfield boy off his bike. A cat then attacks and chases the dog away.

The cat is a family pet named Tara.

The boy needed a few stitches, but is doing fine.

The dog belongs to a neighbor. The neighbor agreed to put the animal, known to dislike children and bikes, down.

Looks like the original uploader to YouTube got greedy and put a copyright on it. Some people just do not understand “15 minutes of fame” now-a-days.

Like most, saw this yesterday. My first thought was, if my kid they wouldn’t have to worry about putting the dog down, because I would go over and kill it with my bear hands!!!

They ought to put the owners of the dog down.

Tara deserves filet mignon and endless bowls of cream.

Barring the stupid act of the mother leaving her kid in possible further danger when the dog is still in the area, Tara the cat is up to speed with her ninja-like fighting abilities!

This feline is to be held in the highest esteem from this time forward. From now on, this cat should sleep on Egyptian cotton bedding, brushed twice a day, and massaged. Tara should now eat the finest food, like sauteed humming bird tongues in wine sauce as an appetizer before the main fare of Crab Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp!

Why in the hell was that dog not on a leash or behind a fence to start with? Mostly when the owners knew it did not like dogs or kids.

I am not a lawsuit happy person, but I would be filing a lawsuit against that family for pain and suffering as well as mental anguish. That dog stalked that boy then attacked.

Agreed!

And it’s a good thing the boy’s family had those security cameras in place. The footage clearly shows the poor kid did nothing wrong. He didn’t taunt or tease the dog before the attack.

I’m glad they’re putting the dog “to sleep.”

A junkyard cat! Well done Tara! Well done!
