Salinas resident Marcello Alvarez, 35, reversed his car into the police vehicle after an officer pulled him over for a traffic stop. Alvarez then led officers on a chase, in which he crashed into another parked car.

Alvarez fled by foot, but officers tracked him down and arrested him. They found a loaded rifle, ammunition and methamphetamine in his car.

Police booked Alvarez in the Santa Barbara County Jail on a more than $1 million bail.

The gangbanger mentality, don’t expect much from these type of people.

There needs to be some sort of safe effective background check and cooling period before young men are allowed to own these weapons.

I am referring to the 2-ton weapon he was driving.

Why, they do not even need a driver’s license. You, me, any American citizen without insurance, registration and driver’s license are cited if not the car hauled away. Illegals, they are privileged, give a name, promise to appear in Court (right), and all is OK. I am so over all this illegal, they are special, and we are the bad guys in our own Country paying for all these all illegals to have a better life while my is deteriorating. What the hell is wrong with this picture and how is that working for everyone?

Tammy,

Since the statistics show that this nation is 75% Christian, then this faction should step forward and accomplish what their leader, Jesus the Christ, prescribes, and that is to take care of the innocent refugee children until their day in court is determined by law!

If you’re a Christian, and I hope you’re not one in “name only,” then you have to agree with the teachings of Jesus within the scriptures as shown below.

“But who so shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” (Matthew 18:6)

“Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” (Proverbs 14:31)

Jesus said: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless.” ( Proverbs 31:8)

“Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.” (Psalm 82:3)

Send them to the Pope, he has been campaigning that we Americans take care of all these illegals but has not offered any of the Catholic Churches wealth. After all, the priests, the pronounced Christians of the world, really know how to take care of kids.

two percent!

Our schools overcrowded, our national health at risk, crime and gangs escalating, cost of illegals bankrupting our Country and all because we have labor, politicians and a legal system that does not want to enforce our laws.

There was a reason we HAD immigration laws and vetted the people coming into this Country. That was when people were proud, productive and law abiding in this Country. Now we have a bunch of rats sinking our Country!

For the two people who gave a thumbs down, can we send the children to your neighborhood. Thank God Alaska is too far for them to travel.

Actually, from my experience, it is rarely the first generation of immigrants that cause trouble. It is usually their children who grow up in families where both parents work long hours and are not around to provide the guidance to keep out of trouble (i.e. gangs). The fact that these parents are also ignorant of some of the difficulties present for kids growing up in this country doesn’t help either. So, I would not be averse to having them as neighbors — until their kids leave elementary school.

However, there are a couple of good reasons for stopping the flow across the border. First, there are simply too many coming in too short a time. We need time to deal with the cultural barriers of immigrants and absorb them into our society. Similarly, there are associated cost which become too great a burden when masses of immigrants come at once.

Second, allowing them in sends a message to others that they can get in if they are willing to tolerate a slow process. This will make the situation worse when you consider how bad conditions are in their home country. The solutions for them aren’t easy and are quite dangerous, but they need to retake control of their own country from corrupt and inept officials and, especially, from the gangs.
