Santa Maria robber search leads to arrest of alleged child molester

After serving a search warrant at home as part of an investigation into a series of recent robberies, Santa Maria police arrested a 31-year-old man at the house for having sexually assaulted a minor. [KSBY]
Officers arrested Santa Maria resident Tyrone Leekins Thursday morning at a home in the 200 block of West Polk Street. They charged him with committing lewd acts with a minor.
Police say the arrest is unrelated to the ongoing robbery investigation. Officers are still trying to determine who is responsible for a series of 10 armed robberies in the Santa Maria area over the last two weeks.
Officers have made three arrests, but so far, the charges levied only pertain to one of the robberies.
