Four injured on icy Paso Robles roads

Around 8:30 a.m., a 16-year-old female lost control of her Pontiac Vibe while going around a curve on Interlake Road just south of Nacimiento Lake Road. The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane before hitting a rocky embankment and landing on its side.

The 16-year-old female was driving at about 50 mph on a road that had ice on it when she lost control of the car, according to the CHP.Both the driver and a 52-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.

At approximately 10:48 a.m., a 34-year-old Paso Robles woman suffered major injuries, including blunt force trauma, when she lost control of her Ford F-150 truck. The woman was driving about 45 mph on a slight curve on Adelaida Road just south of Nacimiento Lake Road prior to hitting several steel fence poles and coming to a stop in a field.

The road was iced over at the time of the crash, according to the CHP.

A 10-year-old passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries. Responders transported the passenger, along with the driver, to a hospital.

Both crashes remain under investigation, but officers do not believe that alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.

This is why people in the northern half of our country have little respect for California drivers. Slow down and take time to learn some snow skills.
