Lenny Jones charged with molesting a third child

7456762_GThe San Luis Obispo District Attorney’s Office filed five additional criminal charges against Lenny Jones after deputies identified a third child who Jones allegedly sexually molested last month.

Jones, Arroyo Grande’s 2014 Citizen of the Year, is accused of kidnapping, penetrating with a foreign object, molesting two girls under 14 years of age and one girl under 10 years of age. The alleged molestations took place while the three girls were attending a birthday party at Jones’ home in March.

The charges include felony oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child under 10 years of age, felony kidnapping for the purpose of child molestation, felony lewd acts with a child under 14 years of age, felony using a minor for sex acts, felony exploitation of a child, felony false imprisonment, misdemeanor annoying or molesting a child and misdemeanor destruction of evidence.

Local sources told CalCoastNews that this is not the first time Jones has been accused of child molestation or flashing a child. More than 20 years ago, Jones and a business associate parted ways after it was suspected Jones had inappropriately touched a child and, sources said.

Lenny Jones was a prominent realtor in the South County. He was Arroyo Grande’s 2014 Citizen of the Year, president of the Woods Humane Society, the president of the Pismo Coast Association of Realtors, past president of the Rotary Club of Arroyo Grande, past board chair of the Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce, and was involved in Arroyo Grande in Bloom and the Arroyo Grande Tree Guild.

A few weeks ago, Jones stopped working in his Arroyo Grande real estate office, stepped down from several boards and told friends he was checking into a 30-day rehab center for an addiction, a source said.

Jones is currently incarcerated in the San Luis Obispo County Jail with his bail set at $1.1 million bail.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying any other potential victims in this case by calling the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office at (805) 781-4500.

Good Point about Why would a 63 year old man be having a kids party.. I hope Mike Byrd still feels , Lenny is still Not guilty.. So his Bail is 1.1 Mil. and They have more charges, I bet it never go to trial ..


He resigned from these ,groups Lenny Knew he was in trouble Weeks in Advance.. He knew his own guilt.


To the RN Lady, God Can not Control the deeds of Evil, My GrandMother would say the chicken have come home to nest.. The Kids are the ones who need get help..

All the awards mean nothing.. It’s what you leave Behind after your gone.. In Mr Jones’ case He will leave tragedy,and mental suffering, His Partner’s also knew of his guilt before I bet, ..

I never said he was or wasn’t guilty. I addressed only the due process that is supposed to be afforded by our justice system. Call me Pollyanna, but I still believe in such things.

This is a strange subject to have any opinion on but I do have a problem with using the word SICK. He is not sick, this is who he is and if the public can not accept his nature then the public should not put a get well spin on who he is because there is no pill or discussion that will change his sex. M & F is old school, today we have M, F, G, L, Trans, and what ever the public wants to accept as ok to not be excluded. That means free to walk among all of us at anytime or anywhere.

This may be a stupid question and not really important but what 63 year old man has a birthday party for young children at his house when he has no kids, was it a relatives party or what, like I said not important but just wondering, were the parents there or just dropped off their kids and left, another lesson to be learned!!

Actually, I became an agnostic after going in to nursing. My very faith was shaken to its core and never restored after seeing how much power and money makes a difference in treatment. It made me a much fiercer advocate and protector for those who need a voice, because prayer is like a cry into the wind, and believing that the “non profit” will really be fair, well, LOL!


I digress…


I had a loosely associated point there. Christian-like behavior. Yes, let’s talk about that. Good ol’ Lenny Jones stands accused. He sounds pretty guilty. 3 young kids, probably more coming out of the woodwork. Upstanding pillar of the community for YEARS and YEARS, volunteering to serve some of our most helpless, abandoned pets. They really are like children, pets. I used to think that was a lie, but it is true. So to devote time, energy, to bring attention to creatures who have had their little hearts broken through no fault of their own IS a KIND ACT.


Lenny Jones has spent many years doing GREAT things for our community. I am not going to negate any of those things. Not one.


I posted before about how we cannot tell a bad apple until we cut in to it. I am also VERY disgusted about the acts he is now charged with committing. If he is indeed guilty, he deserves every bit of despite aimed at him. I have met him before, I DID and DO think he is odd. The “Christian” thing to do is just to wait and see where he is concerned.


I am more concerned about the children. I hope they are receiving appropriate treatment. To be violated forever changes their growth. Study after study has been done on this. Is strips their innocence and their world view. It is heartbreaking. Adults who were molested as children and have been interviewed retell childhoods NOT described as carefree, but as “depressed”, “joyless”.


I see Calcoast readers as highly intelligent, passionate readers. There are a few windbags. Sort out where you fit, then focus the energy to be useful and not just hot air. That would be the “Christian-like” thing to do. That’s what Jesus would do anyway; maybe after he turned some of our wine back in to water……….
