Man killed in Highway 101 crash

A Santa Maria man was killed Wednesday after he drove his motorcycle into a car on Highway 101 near Spyglass Drive in Pismo Beach.
At about 12:30 p.m., the man drove his three-wheel motorcycle into the back of a car when traffic began to slow down in front of him. The force of the accident ejected the motorcyclist onto the road.
Neither the driver nor the passenger in the vehicle was injured.
An hour after the crash, emergency personnel were still at the scene awaiting the coroner. Officers are not releasing the name of the motorcyclist pending notification of his next of kin.
