The CHP has identified the victim as Molly Bear. The driver of the motorcycle, 47-year-old Pismo Beach resident Donald McKee III, suffered major injuries but survived.

The crash occurred on Highway 227 just south of Biddle Ranch Road. A Ford Ranger made a U-turn into the southbound shoulder, and the driver then backed into the southbound lane.

McKee’s Harley Davidson crashed into the pickup. The driver of the Ford Ranger did not see the motorcycle coming, according to the CHP.

Bear suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital. Doctors later declared her dead.

McKee was also ejected from the motorcycle. Responders transported him to the hospital with McKee.

The driver of the pickup did not suffer any injuries.

A CHP investigation into the crash is ongoing.

I’m so sorry to read about another accident on 227, what is about that road that there are so many problems? I feel bad for the woman’s family and I hope the man recovers from his injuries. So sad.

Donald,

Best wishes to you for a blessed recovery.

Molly,

Rest in Peace child.

To the families of Donald and Molly,

God bless, strengthen, and keep all of you.

Life is fleeting.

Seems like an awful lot of fatalities in this county over the past 6-months or so.

Molly was a sweet girl who grew up in SLO county with my children, she will be missed.

Well written report and accounting of the details. Sounds like this was a horrific crash that may have unfolded in one of those slow motion moments for the biker. RIP to the lady rider down.
