I used to work in Santa Maria. I might still. I am not telling.

If it wasn’t stated, the usual M.O. when patients would come to the ER/hospitals, the crime occured by the fairgrounds/that neighborhood. Like everytime.

The victim was a hispanic male, 16-25 unless someone said nope, this time it isn’t!!! The crime was USUALLY stabbing, and these guys were lame about it. It seemed like they stole dad’s Gillete shaving kit knife and did a 2 inch cut; just enough to cause some good blood flow, but not really do life threatening damage MOST of the time.

Now that said, there were exceptions. LIke this story. A shot to the chest is serious enough. He probably collapsed a lung. Sometimes those stabbers are serious. But I did not meet one victim who did not have some recollection or some loose knowledge of who hurt him.

Santa Maria does have a lot going for it. But, it needs done politicians that actually care about getting it back on the right track. For now, it’s a worrying place to be.

That’s what someone said about Oxnard about 35 years ago, now look at it.

That could have been our son! Oh wait…it couldn’t have been. Our son goes to school and works. He hasn’t time to be wandering the streets at night.

if only everyone could be such awesome parents or have such great kids, the world would be a much better place!

And your son has a whole different mentality going for him.

Exactly…..its time to admit the actions that put one at risk….but that would be racist, hate wouldn’t it. When common sense becomes hate……your society is done.

“Police say the suspect is described as a 30-year-old male who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie.”

So are we looking for a White, a Black or a Hispanic? This BS surrounding being PC is utterly ridiculous. I guess since it’s a crime in Santa Maria, we’re supposed to assume that we already know the answer? But then wait, if we assume that we know, we’re being racist aren’t we?

Absolutely correct Cindy. When the perp is white they always state it, so when they don’t we all know the answer. That’s the irony.

Another shooting in Santa Maria? Shocking! That place is a shithole

Santa Maria used to be a nice little town.

It’s not the place that’s the problem, it’s some of the people.

it could be that the guy was wearing a hoddie and they just don’t know his race. If they did have that info you would think le would be first to release it (i wonder what the comments would be then, but i’d like to think they’d be positive and oriented towards the bigger picture)

That said, I agree that being pc is taken to an extreme, but dont you feel that this can at least in part be attributed to sensationalist media tactics aimed at expanding divisiveness. Picking a fight with the other guy and giving your viewer something to feel right about is good for ratings. Could it be that one or both “sides” is playing to this fact and purposely creating issues to fight over (and i say “sides” because, collusion aside, 95% of the media in this country is owned by the same handful of people, and most of these people of course conveniently hold many shares across competing companies).

The default in Santa Maria is Hispanic. It need not be stated as it is understood.

The default in California is…..
