Cambria woman killed in hit-and-run accident

chalkA 67-year-old Cambria woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident Friday night near the Creekside Bar on Hollister Avenue in Santa Barbara, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 9:45 p.m., Victoria Harris exited her parked car, started to walk towards the Creekside bar and was struck by a dark colored Nissan Murano. The driver then fled the scene headed westbound on Hollister Avenue.

Emergency personnel transported Harris to Cottage Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Following up on leads from witnesses, CHP officers tracked down and arrested Eileen Fox, 50, of Goleta. Officer booked Fox into the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run and involuntary manslaughter with her bail set at $100,000.

It is unclear if alcohol or drugs played a factor in this collision.

When are pedestrians going to realize that they can’t walk in front of autos and just assume the auto will see them and stop?


And when are commenters going to realize that if they WEREN’T THERE, they shouldn’t assume to know what really happened?!
