Dawn Ortiz-Legg announces run for Katcho’s seat

November 19, 2015

Dawn Ortiz-Legg, a contractor with First Solar, announced her candidacy for the California State Assembly on Thursday.

Democrat Ortiz-Legg joins Republican Jordan Cunningham in a race for the 35th Assembly District seat currently held by Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian. Achadjian is running for an open seat on the 24th District of the U.S. Congress.

Ortiz-Legg currently serves on several local boards and commissions including the Board of Directors of the San Luis Obispo County Economic Vitality Corporation, the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee of San Luis Obispo Council of Governments, the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival and the Cuesta College Sustainability Center.

“Jobs, infrastructure and housing are critical components to a healthy economy for Central Coast businesses, workers and their families,” Ortiz-Legg writes in her announcement. “This district needs an advocate who understands the delicate balance between growth and protecting our natural resources, but also has real experience expanding businesses in California.”

The 35th Assembly District includes the communities of Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Grover Beach, Guadalupe, Lompoc, Morro Bay, Paso Robles, Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria.

Is this the same Dawn Legg with Code Pink who was always on Dave’s show during the Bush administration decrying the war and giving us a running bodycount? Y’know, it’s weird but I haven’t heard from her much now that a D’s in office. Must be because Obama has achieved world peace, thus justifying his Nobel.

Or maybe it’s what Downtown Bob said. Hard to tell, really.

I guess she feels she’s got a “legg” up on all her opponents including the the largest concentration of endangered species in California located on the Carizzo Plains.

Hypocrisy and politics definitely walk hand in hand.

for someone with so many skeletons in their closet, running for public office seems like a very bold more

She’s sitting with a dog in the picture. It looks like a nice dog. Don’t you like dogs?

dogs don’t break up marriages

It depends on who’s the dog…

More greenwash of pro-busines, pro-development candidates? Like Rivoire, the fake-green bikey guy who promotes the profligate destruction of SLO by awful developments and car traffic? That Economic Vitality connection is a huge red flag for anybody who thinks this gal is more than a shill for the homebuilders.

Getting a job as a public relations person for First Solar, doesn’t make one an environmentalist or a job creator. That’s really weak.

Might as well vote for Bernie Sanders…..

Bernie at least means what he says, and doesn’t greenwash a brown record. Do you not value truth over fabrications?

Dawn seems to have quit going on the radio to protest the war as soon as W was out of office? Core values or politics….thinking politics. Environmentalist except when it comes to collecting a paycheck from a company that destroyed a large portion of the carizzo plains by placing panels and gravel over huge portions of the valley floor.
