Morro Bay police found the body of 21-year-old Avery Danley who had been missing for about two weeks Sunday morning in the back bay near Los Osos. [KSBY]

Danley had been living on a sailboat in the Morro Bay Harbor. He was reported missing on January 27.

Police have not released the identity of the victim, but Danley’s family confirmed it was him.

Danley’s family said they had not heard from him since January 21. Danley’s father, aunt and uncle traveled from the Central Valley to Morro Bay in order to search for him.

They went door to door on the Embarcadero asking if anyone had any ideas as to his whereabouts.

Morro Bay police and harbor patrol, as well as San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating Danley’s death. Investigators have yet to determine a cause.
