San Luis Obispo police arrested a Cayucos man Thursday who allegedly hit a pedestrian and fled after failing to bribe the victim.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Anthony Walsh, 34, allegedly crashed his car into a man at the intersection of High and Higuera streets. Walsh then stopped and offered the victim money and asked him not to talk to the police.

After the victim refused the money, Walsh allegedly drove off. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Nevertheless, a witness took a photo of the suspect’s car and a local business surveillance video also caught the incident. Officers were able to positively identify the suspect using the photo and video surveillance.

On Thursday, two traffic officers went to Walsh’s Cayucos home and inspected his vehicle. The officers discovered damage that matched the hit-and-run.

Police arrested Walsh for felony hit-and-run and booked him into the San Luis Obispo County Jail with his bail set at $50,000.

For such a cute little town, Cayucos seems to have some gems — this guy, the firefighter sex-slave guy, etc.
