Statement from Katcho Achadjian’s campaign

Salud Carbajal and Congresswoman and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have spent more than a quarter-million dollars in an effort to slander Assemblyman and Congressional Candidate Katcho Achadjian.

Mailers began filling mailboxes last week and television ads in both Spanish and English began airing this week claiming that Katcho hates immigrants and women. Assemblyman Achadjian’s voting record however tells a much different story.

Just a few of the bills Katcho has sponsored or supported that protect women in the State Assembly include:

·         AB 65 (Achadjian, 2013) – closed a loophole and strengthened protections for victims of rape.

·         AB 1517 (Skinner, 2014) –sets timelines for law enforcement agencies and crime labs to perform and process DNA testing of rape kit evidence.

·         SB 358 (Jackson, 2015) – prohibits an employer from paying any of its employees wage rates less than the rate paid to employees of the opposite sex for substantially similar work.

·         SB 400 (Jackson, 2013) – prohibits employers from discriminating or retaliating against employees who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.

·         AB 1443 (Skinner, 2013) – extends workplace protections against sex discrimination and harassment to unpaid interns.

“I’m confident in my own merits to run an issue-focused clean campaign,” Katcho said in response to the attacks. “As an immigrant myself, I know the value of hard work and want to make the American dream a reality for all. As a husband and father, I have a long record of protecting women on issues of wage discrimination, domestic violence, and sexual assault. And I will continue to do so.”

Katcho Achadjian’s daughter and campaign manager Nyri Achadjian questions the negative attacks.

“My father would never run a negative ad because he has confidence in the merits of his own record,” Nyri Achadjian said. “The progress women have made in this country ought to be a lesson that attack ads harm all of us and stifle the very necessary conversation around these issues. I am disappointed in their tactics.”

Prior to serving in the California State Assembly, Katcho was elected to the San Luis Obispo County’s Board of Supervisors where he served for three consecutive terms.

Katcho Achadjian is the leading candidate in the race for the 24th Congressional District, which encompasses Santa Barbara County, San Luis Obispo County, and part of Ventura County. Katcho has represented the residents of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties for more than a decade. He lives in San Luis Obispo with his family.

I don’t know how Carbajal can say Katcho Achadjian is against immigrants when he voted to give illegal immigrants drivers licenses and Medi-Cal, too. If you don’t like Carbajal you can go with Democrat Lite – AKA Katcho. He sides with Democrats whenever they flatter him to get a vote. Too bad he never gets anything in return. He isn’t a morally bad guy, just too easily manipulated. Vote for Justin Fareed – someone under age 60 who is a conservative and intelligent.

I don’t know how Salud Carbahal can say Katcho Achadjian is anti-immigrant when he voted to give illegal aliens drivers licenses and to extend Medi-Cal to them and their children. He “crosses the aisle” whenever some flattering Democrat comes along and needs his vote. Unfortunately that happens a lot. It’s not bi-partisanship because he gets nothing in return, no quid pro quo. He has stated that while he did not vote to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour in California, he would do so in Congress if elected “because it would create a level playing field.”

Katcho is Democrat Light. Is this the best we can do? Vote for Justin Fareed and get someone in touch with the generation that is going to have to pay for all these government programs the Democrats (and Republicans like Katcho) have imposed on us.

I don’t want any of these career brought and paid for politicians. I say Justine Fareed, new blood, new ideas and if he does not perform for the people, out he goes next round. I am sick and tired of the career politicians and party chosen. We keep electing these same old party liners and getting the same old results, all against the citizens, and I want real hope and change, not the Demorats idea of hope and change you can believe in, because I don’t believe in it!

Go Trump!

Katcho is a do nothIng, glad handing professional politician, that looks after his fellow small business owners. He says he is a “consensus builder” which means he panders to everyone. He has introduced no significant legislation in his entire career. He wants to be liked by everyone, so he never gets involved in controversial issues. He denies women the choice to chose what they do with their own bodies.

300 grand? Please…Pelosi is just trying to help the Rino by pretending to campaign against him. I’m sure this whole plan was pinned together in Katcho’s office.

There is a reason so much money is being spent to slander Katcho.

Democrats are afraid of him. He is highly electable and doesn’t sound like a nutbag.

I work with LOTS of democrats. Democrats tolerate him, I would say some even like him. I have heard the words Katcho, listens, and reasonable in the same sentence. This says a LOT coming from democrats talking about a republican.

It is just a bonus that Pelosi hates him.

Well, if you have absolutely nothing else to run on, use the same old, tired political slander on your ignorant voters. They fall for it. Every. Single. Time. Always.

Oooo, that’s shocking news, democrats, your opponents hate some victim class that you not only set up, but perpetrate mentally, physically, and financially. They are more vacuous than republicans, even though many republicans are catching up (or is it sliding down) to the dems.

This is not meant for thinking people to debate, laugh at, point out how ridiculous it is. No, this is reality-show-level propaganda that is very effective on reality-show-level intelligence (aka the majority of democrat voters).

You really could have deleted the second to the last word in your comment.

Not really, when republican voters are given a bag of excrement, they often will just stay home and not vote (ex: Obama’s second term). Similar for non-party / unaffiliated, though there were not so many as I believe there are now, so we’ll see this election how many “party-less” people stay out. I, for one, plan to vote (I am “party-less”) and it feels like every other election: vote for a bag of crap or a crap-filled bag.

I didn’t mean to be snarky and generalize “all” democrats, but let’s face it, when it comes to democrat politics and voting, they have the fix already in (and I’m sure the republicans are seething jealous about it).
