Opening Minds Art Show

Opening Minds is a community art show in celebration and support of living mentally well.  Opening Minds was developed to offer people with mental illnesses a way to artistically express themselves and to provide a venue for sharing their art, feelings, thoughts and messages with the general public. It was designed to help the public see that the mentally ill should not be defined in terms of their illnesses but instead by their strengths, gifts and by the contributions they make to society.

The 2012 Art Exhibit will be held May 17 - 31 at 1306 Nipomo Street in San Luis Obispo (Nipomo and Pacific Streets). The show is open daily from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. An Artists’ Reception and Open House will be held on Wednesday, May 16 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. This year’s featured art work is called “Descent” by Namasta Conner.
