PRESENTATION BY DR. JEFF HALPNER at STEYNBERG

Dr. Jeff Halper, Israeli professor of anthropology, distinguished author and Director of the Israeli Committee against House Demolitions, will be visiting the central coast on March 3^rd, 2010 offering insight and solutions to the Middle East peace process.  Dr. Halper’s work includes a widely used resource manual of articles and maps (revised in 2009) Obstacles to Peace: A Re-Framing of the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict. His book, An Israeli in Palestine: Resisting Dispossession, Redeeming Israel (2008-Pluto Press) chronicles his work against the Israeli Occupation.

An internationally acclaimed speaker, Dr. Halper has taught at universities in Israel (Haifa and Ben Gurion) the US, Latin America and Africa.  In 2006 he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by the American Friends Service Committee.
