Overview - Home to Cal Poly Football as well as men's and women's soccer, Alex G. Spanos Stadium is the Wrigley Field of college football arenas due to its quaint layout, idealic setting and an architecture that provides fans excellent site lines to the on-field action. Named in honor of Cal Poly alumnus, philanthropist and sportsman Alex Spanos, the stadium is experiencing a phased renovation that will eventually expand its capacity to 22,000 seats.

With picturesque surroundings including Bishop's Peak and San Luis Mountain to the west, the heart of the Cal Poly campus to the east and Mustang Memorial Plaza to the south, Alex G. Spanos Stadium is arguably the most scenic location in America to watch football and soccer. Too, with Cal Poly's rich football and soccer heritage, fans are regularly treated to raucous games and matches fueled by the Pride of the Pacific , the Mustang Marching Band, which cajoles and entertains fans in the shadow of a bronze Mustang statue known as Unbridled Spirit.
