State of the California Central Coast: MPA Symposium at Marriott Hotel

This 3-day public symposium is an opportunity to learn about baseline monitoring results that establish an ecological and socioeconomic benchmark by which future MPA performance can be measured and assess initial changes following MPA implementation in the Central Coast region. This event is designed to help better understand the first region in which MPAs were implemented under the Marine Life Protection Act and to look ahead to informing adaptive management of the Central Coast MPA network. Invited speakers will share information gathered through the state-funded baseline MPA monitoring program and key partners, and reflect on MPA management and enforcement.

The State of the California Central Coast will be hosted by the MPA Monitoring Enterprise, California Department of Fish and Game, and the California Fish and Game Commission.
