On March 26 , 1827, Ludwig Van Beethoven died in Vienna. The day after, a twelve year old boy took a lock of his hair as a souvenir. 167 years later, the lock of hair was sold to two Americans. Author Russell Martin investigated the incredible journey in his book Beethoven's Hair. Join the author and the Festival musicians as they explore the historic and scientific journey of one of the world's greatest composers with musical examples in this unique event that also explores history, science, literature and politics on the global stage.
