FISH--Group Artist Show at Amphora Gallery
Amphora Gallery in Cambria's East Village presents “Fish”, a themed show by six local artists. The gallery is an artist-owned space featuring the work of long-time Cambria residents and friends Michael Miller and Peggy Vrana of EarthSea Pottery, Fox and Lois Garney of Foxlo Pottery, painter Brenda Gale and potter Gary Gall. The artists have each created works for “Fish” in their Cambria studios, interpreted in their individual vocabulary of style. From platters to vases and bowls, sculptures and original paintings, the many creatures of the worlds of water are abundantly and variously represented.
The centerpiece of the new show is a 9 x 12 foot wall-mounted installation of dozens of thrown and hand-carved fish, with other aquatic elements, against a painted background.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, April 4th from 6 to 9 pm. Amphora Gallery is located at 4070 Burton Drive. The show closes on May 4th. For more information, call 927-8273.
