Learn how to create a worm bin Worm composting is one of the easiest ways to keep kitchen waste out of the landfill, instead turning it into valuable compost and worm tea for your plants. Worms break down food scraps and help make soil while you recycle resources
Presenters: Allyson Nakasone is a graduate from Cal Poly and has degree in Soil Science. While on staff for ECOSLO and the Terra Foundation, she coordinated programs which focused on understanding soils and composting countywide to residents. She is currently a Board member for ECOSLO, Earth Day and member of the UC Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardener program. Allyson works full time as a Realtor® and is a member of the local, State and National Associations of Realtors®.
Alice Hamrick has been a UCCE Master Gardener since 2006 and a worm composter for over 20 years. Alice is an avid gardener and worm compost educator, who will provide us with instruction that is approved by the U.C. Cooperative Extension Master Gardener's Program.
