Paso Robles man killed in roll-over accident

December 4, 2012

A Paso Robles man was killed in a single vehicle accident on Highway 101 near Los Olivos early Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Jorge Plascencia-Toro, 34, was headed south on the highway in a 1994 Toyota pickup when the vehicle drifted to the right shoulder, went up an embankment and rolled. Toro, who died at the scene, was alone in the truck.

Shortly after 4:35 a.m., a semi-truck driver spotted the accident and called 911.

CHP officials do not believe alcohol and drugs were a factor in the fatal accident.

“sometimes we think we can just push through to the next town”

Everyone is that way at one time or another

Seeing the results is a good reminder

I am thinking he fell asleep at the wheel… This is quite scary for me, as I have been known to “drift off” when driving long, empty roads at odd hours. I tend not to put myself in those situations, and have no problem pulling over; but sometimes we think we can just push through to the next town.

My sympathies to this man’s family.
