Lyft driver accused of sexually assaulting intoxicated rider in Nipomo

Deputies arrested a Lyft driver on Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman and then burglarizing her Nipomo home, according to a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department press release. [Cal Coast Times]

Jason Lamont Fenwick , 51, faces charges of oral copulation with an intoxicated victim, sexual penetration with a foreign object, using a device to see through clothing and burglary. The charges stem from a ride Fenwick gave the woman on Nov. 4.

The woman told deputies she had called Lyft for a ride home since she was too intoxicated to drive. Because of the victim’s state of intoxication, the Lyft driver helped her into her home, where she passed out, according to the sheriff’s department.

Inside the home, Fenwick allegedly assaulted the Nipomo woman and took items from her home.

Deputies arrested Fenwick of Lompoc on Thursday and booked him into the San Luis Obispo County Jail with his bail set at $500,000.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about other possible victims in both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties to call investigators at 805-781-4500.

Ml 1999, Clearly Nancy is referencing our Lazy Bro protecting DA, AKA Plea deal Dan Dow, who consistently refuses to press charges for criminal behavior when it’s attached to law-enforcement officers. Danny boy has a proven record of looking the other way to protect cops who rape, drive drunk, and commit a variety of assaults, yet has no problem sending a bike thief to jail for seven years. Between Dan Dow and Pretty boy Parkinson, cops have free reign to break the law knowing there are no consequences here in good ole boy country. Dow recently refused to press charges against a policeman Accused of rape by several Women, even though there was DNA evidence. All the cop had to say was it was consensual, yet he had a long history of sexual assault complaints. He preyed on women who had histories of drug use. Now, watch how this plays out. The lyft Driver will be convicted because he took advantage of an intoxicated woman. So did the cop. One is black, one is a policeman. They both targeted woman under the influence. There’s no doubt they will have completely different outcomes. I am not defending the Lyft driver I am condemning corruption.

Oh please Nancy, enough with the old liberal stereotypes. White cops get busted all the time. Multiple police officers were busted a few years back in Oakland for consorting and having sex with a teenage prostitute.

If this was a white police officer, and there was DNA proof he slept with an intoxicated woman, under the color of authority, I bet the DA would say it could have been consensual and there is no case. But this is not a white officer; I bet he gets 20 years.

I’ll bet if he had just taken the woman home, waited until she was safely in her house, then drove to his next fare, he would have never been arrested… “I can play the what if game too”…
