Ryan Petetit

Correction: Ryan Petetit’s four-year sentence was stayed and he is to serve 270 days in jail.

A San Luis Obispo County developer was sentenced Wednesday to four-years in prison for five felonies related to the violent assault of a former girlfriend. The judge then stayed Ryan Petetit’s prison sentence pending his completion of five years formal probation and attendance in a batterers’ program. [Cal Coast Times]

In addition, Petetit was sentenced to serve 270 days in the San Luis Obispo County Jail.

Last year, Petetit plead guilty to assault with great bodily injury, false imprisonment with force, dissuading a witness and two charges of inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant. On two counts, Judge Dodie Harman sentenced Petetit to four years in prison and three years on the remaining three charges.

Harman ordered Petetit, 32, to serve the five sentences concurrently as one four-year sentence before staying the sentence.

Petetit is scheduled to turn himself into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on Sept. 1 at 8 a.m. On Sept. 26, Petetit is scheduled for a restitution hearing.

Petetit’s attorney Patrick Fisher informed the court Petetit had successfully changed his name to Ryan Wright.

On the evening of Nov. 22, 2015, a verbal argument ensued between Petetit and his girlfriend at a home they shared in Arroyo Grande.

The argument turned physical with Petetit allegedly pushing the victim and yelling, she said. Petetit grabbed the victim by the throat and began choking her. He then dragged her to her feet and shoved her head through a bathroom window, shattering the glass.

The victim attempted to escape, but Petetit took her phone and pushed her into a closet, refusing to release her, she said. While the victim fought to free herself, Petetit slammed her head into the tile floor, knocking her unconscious, she said.

When she awoke, the victim fled to a family member’s home, who took her to a hospital.

Arroyo Grande police officers arrested Petetit a few days later.

In a letter from the victim read during the sentencing hearing, she referred to Petetit as a “master manipulator.” She also noted that everything Petetit has done will catch up to him someday.

Petetit is currently facing multiple allegations of fraud related to a his involvement in a real estate and investment firm affiliated with attorney John Belsher and San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill.

In 2012, Belsher and Petetit created PB Companies. Since then, their portfolio has grown to include more than a dozen projects that Belsher and Petetit valued at more than $300 million in 2015.

Multiple affiliates of Belsher and Petetit claim Hill worked as a paid consultant for the developers working to promote their projects. Even though Hill identifies himself on documents filed with the state as the “managing member” of a limited liability corporation tied to Belsher and Petetit, Hill has repeatedly denied that he works with the developers.

That’s pathetic. Is the batterers program where he gets to be battered by someone bigger and stronger than him?? I hope she sues the you-know-what out of him.

Just for kicks….wait, oooops.

I wonder how much of that $300 mil they stole from investors ended up in the Judge’s mailbox???

And the judge was a woman no less. Go figure! This sentence smells of Adam Hill’s influence…

Could it have been Ryan Petetit telling his old buddy Adam Hill if you don’t want me spilling the beans on our deals you better use some of your influence with the judge to get me a no jail sentence.

This sad excuse for a man gets “270 days” for 5 violent felonies and could possibly serve it at home on his parents couch? With close ties to SLO County’s BOS Adam Hill….

SLO County’s CAO Wade gives upper management, already living comfortably, huge raises, while the rest of the County Employees struggle to survive and get nothing.

SLO County’s Clerk Recorder’s wife arrested and charged with Embezzlement.

SLO County’s Public Works Director let go after Sexual Harrasment.

SLO City worker let go after assault of a women in a bar.

SLO Chief of Police left her GUN to be stolen in a bathroom stall?!?!

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT?????

You get what you pay for. SLO needs to increase salaries in order to attract the best and brightest. ; /

I say $100K a year is tops in Salary for everybody in Govt. If you want to make more, move to the private sector. We are getting the rejects here.

Just another day in paradise for the whacky progressive liberals, they go to work to have fun, and don’t bother them with an expectation of professional conduct!

C’mon people, we all knew Adam Hill’s Buddy was going to get special treatment.

Some of our judges here are as corrupt as the criminals.

“The judge then stayed Ryan Petetit’s prison sentence pending his completion of five years formal probation and attendance in a batterers’ program.”[Cal Coast Times] The time doesn’t fit the crime.

I’m thinking that a “batterers’ program” is not going to change his demeanor. It will, however, provide insight in how to batter women and have a better chance of getting away with it.

Folks,

Ryan Petetits sentance is a travesty of justice!

Only a friend of Adam Hill could commit five violent felonies, engage in assault and domestic battery, and only be sentenced to 270 days in jail. In the SLO TT, it is pointed out that Mr. Petetit will be filing for home detention, so his deal is even sweeter: commit five felonies, then relax at home for awhile.

Obviously, the legal community in San Luis Obispo is in shambles, and this softball sentence given to yet another of the rich and connected class flies in the face of accountability. It certainly appears that there is a different set of standards for those who are connected and those who are not, thus violating a central principle of American jurisprudence: that lady justice is supposed to be blind, only considering the facts of the case.

The fact that Ryan Petetit, a close friend of whacky liberal Adam Hill, could avoid prison time after pleading guilty to five violent felonies involving domestic abuse of a female shows that the criminal justice system in SLO County is corrupt and failing, and voters ought to recall Superior Court Judge Dodie Harman.

Moreover, the silence of so-called local leaders like Mayor Heidi Harmon, Adam Hill and the other whacky progressives, shows that, to them, #MeToo and #TimesUp movements are just Democrat Party campaign slogans, and the liberals don’t actually care about women’s rights or equality. Abandon Democrats in 2020.

District Attorney Dan Dow, and the SLO County Prosecutor’s Office failed to successfully prosecute this case, and they obviously should have taken it to trial. The fact that Ryan Petetit is now eligible to apply for house arrest after pleading guilty to five felonies shows just what a tremendous deal Petetit got from the local legal community, and NO normal person would have gotten this sweetheart deal. Literally, Petetit may never see a jail cell despite pleading guilty to five violent felonies!

This outcome reflects very poorly on Superior Court Judge Dodie Harman, DA Dan Dow, and his lead case prosecutor, Deputy District Attorney Kristy Imel. The prosecution allowed Petetit to avoid jail and prison, an appropriate sentence, accountability, and he will virtually walk away from his behavioral choices unscathed.

Heidi Harmon and Adam Hill are proud of Ryan Petetit.

Now you know the rest of the story.

I wonder how much of that $300 mil he stole from investors ended up in Hill and Harmon’s mailbox?

Cupcakes, lollipops, and baby wipes. Whats going on at the courthouse ? Who gets their sentence stayed? 5 felonies and he gets 9 months!! OUTRAGEOUS Talk about a sweetheart deal. First the cop with the killer dogs, then the city employee who sucker punched the couple at the bar and now this. Somebody knows somebody. The only hope for justice the victim has is this baby faced bitch getting his ass handed to him in jail

Seems as though Mr. Petetit (Wright) is following PG&E – just change your name; but keep on doing what you have been doing – and hope none of us poor unsuspecting victims won’t notice.

Now if we can just get his partner (Belsher) to change his name to Wrong – doesn’t Wright and Wrong Associates have a nice sound?

Absolutely correct. The judicial system protects rather than prosecutes those with connections to political officials (Adam Hill). I knew John Belsher, I knew Steve Ronca, I knew Patrick Fischer’s father, none of their behavior surprised any locals. SLO Town, and SLO County, corruption matches anything, anywhere. The DA’s office is 100% pure politics. Petetit/Wright, as well as Kelly Gearhart will be back doing backroom deals with local government as soon as they are released, if not before. They have a gift, or give gifts.
