Authors Anonymous movie gets release date

The feature film comedy “Authors Anonymous,” written by Dave Congalton has been picked up for distribution and is scheduled for release next spring. [The Wrap]
New York-based Screen Media Films and Starz Digital Media have partnered to acquire all North American rights to the movie, directed by Ellie Kanner, and starring Kaley Cuoco, Chris Klein, Teri Polo, and the late Dennis Farina.. “Authors Anonymous” will be released on ultra-VOD March 18, 2014, followed by a theatrical release one month later.
Hal Schwartz serves as producer. Kanner is also a producer on the movie, which was shot in and around Los Angeles during August 2012. In addition to Congalton, Charlotte Alexander, and Scott Robertson of Arroyo Grande serve as Associate Producers. Cathy Henderson-Martin of Pismo Beach was the original casting director.
Screen Media Films has released more than 250 titles since 2001, including “The Lifeguard” starring Kristen Bell, “Lymelife” with Alec Baldwin and Cynthia Nixon, and Kevin Bacon’s directorial debut “Loverboy.”
Spotlight Pictures signed on last month to be the international distributor for the comedy about unpublished writers chasing their dreams. The movie’s official web site is being developed at authorsanonymous-movie.com.
