Welcome in Obama Care

OPINION By STEW JENKINS

For fear mongers who have tried selling doubt, facts already show that the Affordable Care Act is bringing down health insurance costs making coverage available to everyone.

Passed by Congress and upheld by the United States Supreme Court, the law ended insurance company abilities to exclude for cancer and chronic diseases; extended the time families could cover children; and removed lifetime coverage limits.

Health care exchanges opened in California Tuesday, making it simple and easy for people to find, compare, and buy inexpensive plans covering their needs. More choice and incentives for insurance companies to compete for your business!

Examples will now abound of people saving money or being able to afford coverage they never dreamed they could secure.

As a small business owner I can share with your readers our own experience. Just the advent of California’s Health Insurance Exchange (Covered California) provided my insurance company with incentives to compete to keep our business. With a few phone calls and internet exploration our big blue suddenly was more than happy to offer a plan that had never been available at almost half the price, with half the deductible and more coverage in spite of preexisting conditions including cancer.

Let the fear mongers stew in their own juices. Pick up the phone and call 800-300-1506; or visit Covered California at http://www.coveredca.com.

Jesus wants to know …Why do Republicans hate poor people ?

Jesus wants to know …

———————

Jesus is supposed to be omniscient and omnipotent. That means He already knows everything. That means He doesn’t “want” anything.

If you are going to reference your invisible sky fairy, at least try to understand what He is about before you do his bidding.

Hmmm….maybe it was rhetorical.

OK …I’ll ask you !

Why do YOU think Republicans hate poor people ?

They (and I have 2 sisters and one brother that are well off republicans) believe that they make the money and the poor bastards that don’t are going to take what is theirs. It is all about fear of losing what they so rightfully have earned. I am not big on scripture…..and I have studied it, I know scripture is to teach us a more social way of being. The fear that the politicians on both sides use works to get them what they want. It works in the short term and leaves deep scars on our psyche and we are now experiencing the results of years of fear mongering control freaks who don’t care what works best for all, only what works best for themselves. Sad!

I think I will be PRO CHOICE on this one… oh, wait. I cannot be. It is now illegal for me to have a choice in what I do with my body.

Funny how things work out, no?

show us on the doll where obama care touched your body.

I’m guessing it will touch us all in the nether regions… some are already bending over without realizing it.

The more intelligent among us do not care….or want to know, what you do with your body.

Does this mean you want to know?

I think I will be PRO CHOICE on this one… oh, wait. I cannot be. It is now illegal for me to have a choice in what I do with my body.

Nah. As the Supreme Court said, this is just another tax. And frankly, everyone should contribute to health care and everyone deserves health care treatment. It’s the least we can do in a civilized society.

The funny part is how all our elected representatives swore up one side of the street and down another that this wasn’t just another tax. If it walks, looks and quacks like a duck…..

I think we all deserve clothing, too… therefore we deserve cotton. We need laborers who will provide this cotton for our clothing that we deserve. In fact, we should not pay these people what they ask, rather we should pay them their value as set by the government.

What should we call these laborers who will provide this cotton at a pre-established reimbursement for our well-deserved clothing?

Everyone deserves a lot of things, that does not mean the government or anyone else needs to provide for it. That’s just lunacy.

I was also one of the “lucky ones” to get in and get a rough quote (well, four of them) – none were as good as what I currently have, and all were more expensive. I fail to see how this is better for me – but I might be in the minority, I do not know.

Hey there Stewie, available to everyone indeed. The former $212 a month to your hero’s affordable rate of $387 a month. Some fookin deal.

I not sure I want to depend on a federal government that is 17 trillion dollars in debt for my family’s health care. Nor do I trust my personal medical records to an organization as corrupt as the IRS.

Replace those Tea Party congressmen (sorry, no ladies) with some California Dems and they’ll fix that Bush debt. Super majority here and the economy takes off. http://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/news/2013/09/18/calif-small-deficit-economy-still-good.html Start taxing the rich, as Obamacare does, and we’ll solve our biggest problems. Then they can give you good, single payer health care. I don’t know why they would want your “personal medical records”, physical or fiscal.

That’s funny right there…Obamanomics 101 is like on of the big 3 whining they lost money in a quarter. The reality is they made 3 trillion not the predicted 4 trillion in profit. Pure horse shit smoke screening. In Obamanomics its him pounding his chest that “Were paying down the deficit faster then its been done in 60 years”

Yes, the deficit your boys, and in your case girls too, ran up higher and faster than ever in American history. Another lie. BTW, what did you guys do with the “free healthcare” lie on the Obummercare website?

Your comments, like many here, reflect the ignorance the righties have spread. Your family’s health care will come from private insurers, not the federal government. Anyway, your fears are odd; the success and popularity of Medicare fully illustrate how well federal insurance could have worked if we’d had Medicare For All instead of this makeshift stuff we’re getting.

As for the IRS comment, I assume you’re just having fun?

Oh, keep your powder dry…

I am concerned that all the democratic legislators just voted to exempt themselves from this fine program. One has to wonder if this will be the first federal program in history to deliver at or under budget?

We’ll see where this goes

I predict that Republicans in Congress will be hoisted by their own petards, lose the House of Representatives and more Senate seats in the 2014 mid-terms, and many will lose much of THEIR government guaranteed healthcare.

We can then see how a shrinking minority party fades into oblivion and irrelevance.

RUN, ROGER, RUNNNNN !

It is so cute how everything in your world comes down to democrats and republicans.

It really is.

everyone knows it was the proggressives all along ..amiright?

Ever stop to think that party politics are an illusion? At least at the national or state level? And every time you see someone bemoaning “the opposition” they actually grin a little bit in the back rooms?

When Great Britain launched it’s health care system there were parades in the streets. Now they parade over here if they need to save their life. At least they use to…

http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottatlas/2013/07/05/happy-birthday-to-great-britains-increasingly-scandalous-national-health-service/

Every one is talking about money, what about the kind of health care we are going to be receiving. Government employed Doctors and Nurses, Government run hospitals. Just like our taxes are increased every time more money is needed so will our health insurance policies be increased. This will cause even more discontent once again pitting the rich against the poor and middle class.

The rich will just pay and use private doctors and hospitals while the poor and middle class will be stuck with what their Government has to offer. Why do you think the Politicians, Government workers are not included…… because it is so great!

I grew up on Government health care. Years wait for hospital bed, in a ward with 15 other people. Second grade doctors from other countries. The most qualified doctors are all private, the best hospitals/clinics are private. Look out America it’s coming.

Must be a Ruskie. Only way to make sense of this rant.

Dear mentally ill republicans,

You can suck it up or suck it down, but either way it’s gonna happen.

Dear mentally ill dems, I have had my own private insurance for decades because I am self employed, I have never taken a dime for unemployment or disability.

My rates went up 52% in 2012 “in anticipation of “obamacare” and when I asked three of the biggest medical insurance brokers how much obamacare is going to cost us or how much my rates will be affected up or down, they to the person said they had no idea. In fact they could not even quote me a policy price until Oct 2, 2013.

easymoney,

Sounds like you’re a great candidate for Obamacare!

But, so you’re not a hypocrite, DO NOT take advantage whatsoever of the new laws set forth by Obamacare to protect you from your big healthcare companies! Promise?

Are you forgetting that “his” big healthcare companies were optional for him? He was not legally bound to pay them a dime. In fact, he could legally have NO insurance and that would be his decision. Now, it is illegal for him to exercise his right of choice.

So… where are all the “pro choice” people now? Is it not our body? Can we not decide what is best for us?

Oh. Didn’t think I’d go there, huh?

Homerun roy…

I did have a choice before Oct 2nd,and if I chose no coverage that would be entirely on me. But, I just got my letter from anthem cancelling my long standing policy, because of obamacare not for missing any payments, not because I made frivolous claims, or because of a long standing illness. And I do not have a choice, it is the law and a tax.

And for the mouthbreathers here, I did go on the California obamacare site yesterday and the quotes I got there were almost double my past free market policy, for the same company, coverage and deductible.

Now that the legislature (that would be the dems) that voted to see what is in this bill, is now owning it…

we lost twinkies too.

Yes, but they are BACK and with TWICE the SHELF LIFE as before!

Plus the “New Hostess” is now Union-Free which not only double production with less than half the factories, but should allow them to turn a nice profit and stick around as long as our beloved snack cakes.

I’m self employed and never taken assistance either, but unlike you possess the ability to differentiate personal from public best interest, and despite what your retarded heros have taught you, there is indeed a difference.

Enjoy your suck down!

All you have to do is get a job as a Congressional staffer, then, Ta-daa, you get a big subsidy to pay for your Obamacare. Simple really.

Your comment is misleading. All kinds of subsidies are available to all kinds of people, depending upon income and other factors. Try starting with the facts and work from there. You might be surprised what you find.
