A 15-year-old boy from Paso Robles died, and two other teens suffered injuries, following a single-car crash in rural Templeton on Sunday night, according to the CHP.
Just before 10 p.m., a caller reported a solo vehicle crash on El Pomar Drive just west of Vaquero Road. Officers determined Jonathan Sanchez, 18, was driving a white 2007 Toyota Camry westbound on El Pomar Drive, just west of Vaquero Road, when his car left the road and crashed into a tree.
The impact caused a 15-year-old Paso Robles resident, who was seated in the back of the Toyota, to be ejected from the car. The teen died at the scene of the crash.
Responders transported Sanchez and another 15-year-old Paso Robles resident to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs factored into the crash. The CHP investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
