Alt-rock icons Incubus are coming to the the Avila Beach Golf Resort for a weeknight concert on Thursday, October 13, CalCoastNews.com has learned.

Times, tickets and guests have yet to be announced.

The Calabasas-based quintet play regularly in Santa Barbara but this is their first show in San Luis Obispo County since their Mid-State Fair gig in 2002.

Formed 20 years ago, the group has been a staple on rock radio since the mid-1990s. Incubus is known for its quirky, energetic live shows and recently released their seventh studio album, “If not now, when?”

2011 has been a stellar year for an ever-improving Central Coast live music scene. This Sunday the Stone Temple Pilots are headlining the Avila Resort, which also featured Sheryl Crow and Experience Hendrix earlier this year. The English Beat played a crowd-pleasing free show on Memorial Day, the Moody Blues sold out the PAC in May and the California Mid-State Fair attracted several top-notch country and rock acts on both their paid and free stages.
