Former Oceano board member David Angello dead at 58

April 10, 2012

David Angello, a four term member of the Oceano Community Services District Board, died Sunday following a lengthy illness. He was 58.

During his 16 years on the board, Angello promoted the Oceano Senior Center and was the driving force behind the creation of the Ocean Fire Department.

“His public service was dedicating his life to the people of Oceano and Halcyon,” said Tom Geaslen, general manager of the district.

Angello and his wife of 39 years, Lori Angelo, operate an ATV rental business in Oceano. Angello is also survived by his sons David and Craig, and two grand children.

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Arroyo Grande, followed by a burial at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery, and a reception at the Oceano Train Depot.

God Bless he and his family. A great example for others on the OCSD board.

God Bless all in pain.

I always appreciated his insight and willingness to comment during the meetings. It seemed obvious that he wanted the best for Oceano. Lori has gone above and beyond in continuing her service to the OCSD while being there for Dave. Condolences to the family and his many friends.

One of the very few good OCSD members and he was a local Icon. It’s very sad that he was so sick for what seemed to be a quite awhile.

RIP Mr. Angelo.
