Magnitude 5.3 earthquake shakes the Central Coast

October 21, 2012

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake that rattled the Central Coast of California on Saturday could be felt from San Fransisco to Lompoc.

It struck at 11:55 p.m. with an epicenter 25 miles north-east of San Lucas, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. A swarm of small earthquakes, three larger than a 3.o, followed the quake within the first few hours.
